Is anyone else suddenly feeling very low in mood?

Or is it just me?

I was 'normal' last week. This week (clocks changed?) I feel like utter shit.

It's come from nowhere.

I take spatone iron supplement daily. Had my over 40s health check (including bloods) done 3 weeks ago. Nothing flagged up.

Urgh. Anyone else?

Could be the clock change and lack of light.

I always feel low when that happens. Hate it being dark at 5pm. Then you’ll get someone saying how great it is to snuggle under blankets for 6 months..

Have you tried vitamin d? And just getting outside in the light as much as possible.

DifferentD35 · 02/11/2018 21:11

Yep. Going through baby blues and a clock change and drop in temperature is absolute hell

LanguidLobster · 02/11/2018 21:12

Yes, it's horrible when that happens. I just tried to get lots of hot fluids and walks today

Yes. I’ve never minded winter before but this week I’ve felt really low at the thought of 4 months of darkness and cold.

Delatron · 02/11/2018 21:14

Yes the temperature did suddenly drop this week also after a mild October so it’s all just a shock to the system.

Singlenotsingle · 02/11/2018 21:15

Pop over to France for a few days, where it's lighter and brighter, it's not raining, and the clocks haven't gone back! I know it's probably not convenient, but do it if you can...

JustWhatINeededNow · 02/11/2018 21:18

Glad I'm not alone. I'm outside (and exercising) more than most I think?

Although I'm having to run in the dark though

It's hit me square in the face. I feel horrid.

It’s just a bit shit this shift in seasons really.

I’ve felt terrible this week, almost claustrophobic with the lack of light. Also had to run in the dark! Didn’t love it.

bobstersmum · 02/11/2018 21:27

Yes! Me. Utterly crap. Had a very poorly dd all week though so lack of sleep not helping.

JustWhatINeededNow · 02/11/2018 21:28

Yes! It is a seasons shift isn't it?

Light, temperature, time...

ASAS · 02/11/2018 21:30

Yes! Had to go to a sunbed salon on my lunch break which helped. Fucking winter!

Athena51 · 02/11/2018 21:32

I've felt really low but it's heading towards the third anniversary of my mum's death and it's a really hard time of year.

lmj25 · 02/11/2018 21:33

Yep could cry most days but that could also be to do with being 38 weeks pregnant

ChipInTheSugar · 02/11/2018 21:33

Def try a good dose of Vit D. I'm evangelical about the difference it made to me one winter

fuckedoffwithlife · 02/11/2018 21:36

Same here
No energy whatsoever no enthusiasm to do anything this week.
Been a hectic one with various things on with dc and work so I'm knackered anyway but Crikey I'm really dragging myself through this week
Haven't taken vit d since the start of summer but took it all last winter and didn't feel like this so must get some ASAP me thinks.

Newlifeisstarting · 02/11/2018 21:41

“Pop over to France for a few days, where it's lighter and brighter, it's not raining, and the clocks haven't gone back!”

It’s cold where I am in France, and the clocks went back on the same day as the U.K.! The hour difference makes it lighter a little longer though. But living in France makes me happier these days!

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/11/2018 21:43

Get a SAD lamp! I’ve suffered like this for years, finally got a SAD lamp (cheapest medical grade one on Amazon) it’s been amazing, I feel so much more energised.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 02/11/2018 21:43

Um what's an over 40s health check? Should we all get them?

OohMrDarcy · 02/11/2018 21:45

Yep - everything seems to be getting on top of me suddenly and I'm grumpy with the kids too. Never normally get like this!

NoMudNoLotus · 02/11/2018 21:54

Yes @SmiledWithTheRisingSun ... enquire with your practice ... the practice nurse can do them, doesnt have to be a doctor.

JustWhatINeededNow · 02/11/2018 22:02

I got summoned for the health check just after my birthday (yay)

I've thought about those SAD lamps.

Will look at vitamin D supplement too.

I feel better already

3luckystars · 02/11/2018 22:04

I am all over the place this week too. I have started a multivitamin and and am trying to get as much sleep as I can.
I thought it was just me.

JeezYouLoon · 02/11/2018 22:07

Me too!

I'm knackered, absolutely and totally knackered. Thankfully I have some time of work, the DCs are delighted whilst I'm sleeping they're filling their boots on the XBox

I'm back at work next week, I'm dreading it, I'll be dead on my feet.

Micheleebr9 · 02/11/2018 23:27

Hiya! Does anyone know if I can get pip for bad anxiety and depression please?

JustWhatINeededNow · 03/11/2018 07:54

@Micheleebr9 no idea. Might be worth star in your own thread?
