Matthew Wright or Jeremy Vine?

Not a popular view on Mumsnet, but I really miss Matthew Wright and wish he hadn't left!

I preferred Matthew Wright, I've stopped watching it in the morning.

Jeremy Vine has got worse on his radio show since taking over from MW. He was mildly annoying before, but the stupid irrelevant comments he makes when talking about a serious topic are just getting out of hand! It is really off putting for the listener and probably the caller when they are making a serious point about a serious issue and he makes a stupid comment then has to explain his own 'joke' because the caller didn't get it! I drive a lot for work, so have him on in the car, but don't get to watch the TV show very often. He should do one or the other instead of presumably both badly!

Matthew Wright like pp said I’ve also stopped watching it in the mornings but I listen to his afternoon radio show which is in a similar vein as the wrightstuff with alot of the regular guest as well.

Mathew Wright, also don't bother watching it anymore since he quit.

I like it best when Anne Diamond is guest presenting, but yeah I prefer Matthew to Jeremy.

It’s no longer a topical debate show. All he does is tell stupid, irrelevant anecdotes. He does nothing to encourage, support or move debates forward. I’m on mat leave so I do watch but it’s getting more and more annoying!

I wish Matthew Wright would come back. He was so knowledgeable and would obviously read up on subjects pre-show.
Jeremy Vine seems to take it all as a joke. But he is also offensive. For example when Jamal Khashoggi was murdered, JV couldn't pronounce his surname. JV made a couple of half hearted attempts and then laughed and said "oh however it's pronounced". He's done that a few times now. But he also has a lack of knowledge of the subjects discussed that is embarrassing.

Jeremy Vine is awful on this show, he talk's far to much and doesn't get a debate going,
I say give the job to Anne Diamond she's brilliant on the show, a great presenter

I used to like Matthew Wright. He knew what he was talking about. Jeremy Vine is just opinionated, without the background knowledge. I've stopped watching it too.

My one year old DD loves Jeremy Vine and waves to him when the show starts! I much prefer him to Matthew Wright,he just seems a much nicer person all round.

Matthew Wright by far! Jeremy Vine isn't well informed, not a good presenter, poor jokes, droning voice and what's with getting out from behind the desk every day?
I can't watch it any more...apart from when Anne Diamond is on. She is great, informed, respectful, clearly spoken and doesn't fawn over Storm at every opportunity.

I'm going to have to turn off - they just covered a story about Selina Scott and he comments on how "it's a nice picture" of her. I'm sure he's a nice man and the picture may be nice but it was irrelevant to the topic.

I don't understand the new audience interaction but where he'll give them cake or whatever.. it's an embarrassingly small audience with empty seats so why show them?

I agree that Matthew was better, luckily he was still there for the bulk of my maternity leave.

Anne Diamond is a true hero.

I used to hate how JV's voice would change when he was talking about something sad. So insincere.

Jeremy is like an embarrassing Dad who thinks he looks cool in skinny jeans.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t bothered watching since Vine took over. I carried on watching it for the couple of months after Matthew left when various people like Anne Diamond presented but haven’t bothered since.

I don’t like Jeremy Vine.

I like Jeremy on the radio but not on this, I would like Anne Diamond to take over too.

Matthew Wright by a country mile. Anne Diamond would have been far better than Jeremy Vine.

I'm pretty sure Matthew Wright was one of us anyway. The latest AIBU would crop up on his show far too conveniently. Now he's a dad I don't think he'll flounce just yet...will you Matthew?

I miss Matthew. He was irritating but in a good way. Jeremy is so sexless and awful. Not an Anne fan either. Matt Barbet was very good.
