He's stole my hot water bottle

Semi light hearted!

Just got up to the loo and Dh has nicked my beloved hot water bottle! He's properly stole it, turned over and is practically lying on it and I can't bloody get it back.

Surely this and the god awful snoring is enough to initiate divorce proceedings first thing in the morning!

Can you not sneak a hand under and try to stealthily pull it out?

FTFF · 02/11/2018 01:46

He's got it in a bloody death grip, I suspect he's trying to make me cuddle in and is only pretending to be sound asleep

Rooms bloody Baltic after we I left the windows open all day 🙄

Death grip Grin

Witchend · 02/11/2018 07:17

I feel you pain.

I feel the cold at night, DH says he prefers to be cold. So we have 1double duvet over both of us, and I have 2 more just on me when I go to sleep.
I typically wake up to find all 3 duvets over him with most of the double on the floor the other side of him.
He holds on tight when I try pulling it back.
A swift tickle under the ribs is the only way to make him let go.

Heuschrecke · 02/11/2018 07:17

This is why you need two hot water bottles. Buy him one as an early Christmas present!

FTFF · 02/11/2018 08:36

I managed to get it back when he got up at 5 and I've been trying desperately to get back to sleep since but failing miserably

We have at least 4hot water bottles, on really cold nights I have to have 2 but unless he is ill he never admits to wanting one.

If he nicks it tonight he's getting woken up, I felt sorry for him last night as he was only getting 5hrs sleep.

Take the hot water bottle with you when you go to the loo. :)

Veterinari · 02/11/2018 09:10

Electric blanket. It’s the future

TillyVonMilly · 02/11/2018 09:10

A duel control electric under blanket is required op. You can leave your side switched on all night and keep yourself toasty warm Smile

ItWasntMeItWasIm · 02/11/2018 09:17

I was up in the night dealing with a vomiting child. Cane back to bed to find my beloved hot water bottle shoved up dh's arse crack Angry

Weenurse · 02/11/2018 09:20

We have dual control electric blanket. Saved our marriage as he is too hot but likes a hot bed as well. I am peri menopausal so I like things considerably cooler.

FTFF · 02/11/2018 11:22

I'd been considering an electric blanket but we have a memory foam topper so it's a fire risk. I'll just need to be more protective of my cosy hot water bottle!

@ItWasntMeItWasIm yuck! I wouldn't fancy cuddling it after it had been there. I hope you DC is feeling better.

AgathaRaisinDetra · 02/11/2018 11:34

Get some scissors and puncture the hot water bottle next time he steals it.

Santaisgettingbusy · 02/11/2018 11:38

Funny we were just talking about hwb last night - my hands were freezing so I warmed them on dh's testicles!!
He is off to buy me a hwb today!
Grin

FTFF · 02/11/2018 12:09

@AgathaRaisinDetra I like your style, although I bets I'd have to clean it up!

@Santaisgettingbusy I have hot water bottles after nearly giving DH a heart attack when I warmed my icy cold hand on his back! He really wasn't happy! I on the other hand found it very funny!

OP posts:
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/11/2018 13:03

If he does it again, wash your hands in really cold water, and then put them all over him whilst trying to recapture your hot water bottle! That'll learn him!

FTFF · 02/11/2018 13:51

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius
Brilliant, stored away for future! He was apologetic this morning but he's not forgiven

OP posts:
Maelstrop · 02/11/2018 15:27

Get rid of the mattress topper and get the electric blanket. Geting into a pre-warmed bed is the bollocks.

Fuzzywig · 02/11/2018 15:30

The only obvious fix is to take the hot water bottle with you every time you leave the bed -and- -the- -duvet-

Fuzzywig · 02/11/2018 15:31

🙄 strike fail lol

FTFF · 02/11/2018 15:54

@Fuzzywig brilliant! I'll keep that up my sleeve. My only concern he might do the same if I annoy him 😂.
This might end ip in all out war.....over a hot water bottle!

JeremyCorbynsBeard · 02/11/2018 16:00

It's stolen, not stole.

ItWasntMeItWasIm · 02/11/2018 16:26

Good idea about the cold hands Grin

Vomiting child hasn't vomited since early hours of morning, thank goodness 😷

TillyVonMilly · 02/11/2018 16:34

Op, have a look at a Dreamland heated under blanket, dual control, it’s lovely Smile

Heuschrecke · 02/11/2018 17:15

"It's stolen, not stole." Guess what, JCB? I think we all know that and don't feel the need to pull up the OP on her SPAG Hmm

Now that some of you have mentioned dual control, heated under blankets I've been thinking about buying one of those for a while. Any good recommendations please?!
