Sopranos?
Breaking Bad?
Prison Break?
24?

I loved Sopranos as I was pregnant with my first and loved snuggling up every night on the sofa watching it while feeling bump wriggle about.

Loved the ending of MadMen
Also loved the Good Wife - peaked about half way through, was a bit rubbish at the end.

This is a tough one!

Desperate Housewives - I've watched about 5 times now so I think this may top them all

Breaking Bad - twice
The West Wing - twice, it's bloody brilliant
Gossip Girl - just rewatching now
Gilmore Girls - lost count!
Mad Men - loved 1-5 but got a bit boring towards the end
The Good Wife
Empire
Grey's Anatomy (agree with PP though, it's just a soap now, but I still watch!)
Scandal - was good for the first 3 seasons, I tailed off it in the end
House of Cards - bloody brilliant. Before Spacey turned out to be a pig! Can't wait for the new series

MommytoA · 31/10/2018 07:40

Tammy thank you I will have to watch that! Have to say I've never heard of it though 😐 we tried to watch SOA again recently but it's so long and I was pregnant at the time of watching it before! Don't have much time now with DD 😂

needsanewname · 31/10/2018 07:42

How did I forgot Game of Thrones!

TammySwansonTwo · 31/10/2018 08:24

Same Mommy - we have twins now, takes ages to get through long series. I need to watch Justified but would take months to get through it.

Those saying The Americans, we watched the first couple of episodes but I just wasn’t feeling it - should I try again?

SinkGirl · 31/10/2018 08:30

@bumblingbovine49 give Better Call Saul another go. It’s deliberately slow burn - it knows that you know where it’s going (assuming you’ve seen Breaking Bad) so it plays with your expectations. The first season is a bit lightweight but then it gets so good - I honestly prefer it to B.B. now. I found the most recent series absolutely heartbreaking, watching Jimmy turn into Saul is just so sad, but it’s also brilliantly written and shot.

As for The Wire, it took me three attempts to get past the first episode because, as you say, I could barely understand what anyone was saying. Just push through it - within a couple of episodes you will understand things much more, and then you have an absolutely amazing series to see. I remember having no idea what was being said in the first scene but I don’t remember struggling after that first episode.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 31/10/2018 08:37

I watched most of The Wire with subtitles on. Otherwise I would have missed loads!

GoldenBuns · 31/10/2018 08:43

Mad Men. The best series ever. It's clever, funny and moving. The sets and historical detail are amazing.

TOADfan · 31/10/2018 09:43

Where to start!

Gossip Girl
The Vampire Diaries
Buffy
Dexter - I liked the ending 🤭
SOA
Once upon a time
Desperate housewives

I agree greys anatomy and supernatural are fantastic shows which I both love but jumped the shark a good 6 seasons ago.

Ones ended too soon:
Hex
Tru calling
Point pleasant
Reaper
Mile high
Greek

Is West Wing on Netflix or Amazon?

Westwing1 · 31/10/2018 10:23

Westwing! Great characters is the main reason. Then great script, fast pace, funny, clever, exciting story lines. DH and I rewatch it every 2 or 3 years. It's a relief to watch something without lots of sex scenes/rape/domestic violence/paedophile on the loose, missing child and constant need to shock or repulse. The American cast are very much leaders of the free world and always know best but if you can look past that it's great fun watching them be super busy mainly in the corridors of the West Wing, sometimes on the campaign trail or abroad.

Bluetrampolines we have the series on DVD from ages ago, don't know if it's on Netflix/Amazon.

IsabelleSE19 · 31/10/2018 12:27

Just remembered how much I loved watching the second series of Witnesses (French with subtitles) earlier this year.

Also Succession, which just finished its first season on Sky Atlantic. It's got Matthew MacFadyen in it and he's brilliant!

LAlady · 31/10/2018 12:29
