What’s everyone doing for Halloween? Smile

Watching TV in my bedroom so the house appears in darkness. I hate Halloween - What redglitter said.

How lousy it is when ordinary people are reduced to having to hide in their own homes, because kids knock on doors interminably, despite there being no visible pumpkins etc. What's fun for some is horrible for others.

Just drawing the curtains, and not answering the door if anyone knocks.
We usually have a few little groups of children coming round, with an adult in attendance..they come at about 15 minute intervals..

Last year, I opened the door to one group of children, and I only had some nice apples to give them,, but two kids said,,oh,we don't want apples, we want money or sweets !! bye bye then , but when I went out to my shed later, I noticed that they had thrown a load of ketchup on my path.. I didn't expect behaviour like this in our nice little village !!

Bought huge bag of sweets and decorated house but we're not home until after 7pm so will probably miss most of little ones coming round.

Always turn lights off here at 8pm so no-one calls after then and we can have dinner in peace Smile

We filled a bucket with sweets. I took pictures of my two children wearing Halloween costumes at the weekend. I carved a pumpkin. We also decorated the apartment.

Another one for the miserable old sods' bench. Not sure why I would want to give sweets to other people's bloody kids. What about the obesity epidemic?
Might leave a sign outside saying this is a began house and offering carrot sticks and tofu slices.

Love that dogsdinner!
Watching TV and relaxing. Won't open door. Fortunately don't get many round here- was constant where we used to live and the poor old couple next door hated it.

dogsdinnerlady · 31/10/2018 17:53

.....vegan...

FuzzyCustard · 31/10/2018 17:55

I've always wanted to make toffee onions though...

MaryJenson · 31/10/2018 17:57

Nothing
Home alone and will have no callers

I’m feeling sad about this tbh

dogsdinnerlady · 31/10/2018 18:00

Toffee onions... that'll teach them. How about choc covered garlic cloves or candied chillies?

dogsdinnerlady · 31/10/2018 18:02

Mary... don't be sad. 'Callers' are just greedy little blighters begging for sweets and threatening to 'trick' you.

Adversecamber22 · 31/10/2018 18:16

Have had 9 trick or treaters so far, carved pumpkins couple days ago with my DS. Have made a decapitated corpse sat on a chair with a plastic skull in its lap in the hall on full view when door is opened. Dressed in a floaty wedding dress with Mask and black lace veil. DS has a couple of friends round. People that have knocked appreciate effort, have history of costume making so love Halloween.

MaryJenson · 31/10/2018 18:18

I had so many years of fun with my DCs and friends dogsdinnerlady
Parties, special Halloween dinners, carved pumpkins and trick or treat adventures.

FuzzyCustard · 31/10/2018 18:18

dogsdinnerlady You are right on my wavelength!

Only one caller so far. We resisted the urge to yell something rude and just hid. I can hear another load of kids outside now.

EnidButton · 31/10/2018 18:24

Wondering if everyone I hear the bowl I left on the step rattling if it's a kid emptying the enter thing into their bag. I should've just given them out but I'm in my dressing gown with wet hair and a face mask on now (a clay one!) think that'd be too scary for them.

VictoriaBun · 31/10/2018 18:28

BOOooo !

As we have no small people these days - sat with the curtains drawn and won't be answering the door but no-one has knocked anyway .Halloween SmileHalloween Shock

EnidButton · 31/10/2018 18:34

The cheeky wee feckers have cleared my bowl out already. Obviously giving them more credit than they deserve. Won't be doing that again.

GraveyardScapers · 31/10/2018 18:37

I’m answering the door dressed as Minerva McGonagall Grin and waiting for DD to come back from her party so we can go trick or treating - I don’t really like knocking on people’s doors but I love giving out sweets and seeing all the children dressed up.

Sniv · 31/10/2018 18:45

Staying in handing out sweeties tonight (nearly out already so I'll be shutting up shop soon) and then a themed dinner party at the weekend.

I love this time of year.

81Byerley · 31/10/2018 18:57

We're sitting in and ignoring the doorbell.
