Just another shift at my evening job. Getting dressed up as a clown and jumping out at paying customers in the middle of a dark creepy wood.
At least today I can drive to and from the venue in full costume and make up.
Wonder how many will point and stare as I wait in traffic?

Raven88 · 31/10/2018 10:01

I am going to relax at home and hope no one knocks at my door.

OPen the door, shut the door, open the door, shut the door, open, shut from 6 until up to 9 at night
And don’t think the older kids realise I know already they’ve came to my door 5 times already. Bless them they do make me laugh

hellokittymania · 31/10/2018 10:22

There is the special-needs Halloween just go in my area. So I might go to that. This girl I said. No disco. A Halloween disco!

Ifoundanacorn · 31/10/2018 10:28

We are having a halloween tea party after school with lots of friends and then going out trick or treating! We are decorating now and the dc are all so excited. I tend to veer towards the pagan celebration rather than the ghoulish aspect. I love autumn and this celebration lifts all of our spirits.

Happy halloween everyone!

guiltynetter · 31/10/2018 10:37

i’m taking my DD trick or treating for the first time. im hoping it’s not freezing! it’s okay to go as soon as it’s dark, right? about 6ish? she’s only 4, i don’t want her to go to bed too late!

Badtasteflump · 31/10/2018 11:05

Ha I'm a bit like that. I do like Halloween but now the DC are older it's more about eating something a bit spooky for dinner and watching some horror films. And because lots of the trick or treaters around our way seem to be teenagers wearing a crappy plastic mask, I switch the doorbell off for the night - they can go buy their own bloody chocolate Grin

Ifailed · 31/10/2018 11:17

I'll be laughing at all the unimaginative people who've spent £s on tat from the supermarket so their DCs can look like every other kid out begging for sweets.

DailyMailFail101 · 31/10/2018 13:17

Just going to make a little hallowe’en supper tonight for the kids and decorate the front door a bit, pumpkins etc. I love the children knocking on the door all excited so I’m not taking my own children out, they don’t care anyway as they are only 4 and 1.

TowerRingInferno · 31/10/2018 13:23

Going out to watch a local theatre group in order to avoid it!

Allgoodnamesaregone · 31/10/2018 13:30

Halloween decorations have been up since last Thursday....far too many to put them up for 1 night!
DD was 10 on Sunday so we had a Harry Potter party. Often have a Halloween party straight after her birthday party, but not this year.
We have carved pumpkins today & dressing up to go TorTing later.
Got sweets ready for people knocking here too.

Allgoodnamesaregone · 31/10/2018 13:34

guiltynetter

We go as soon as it getss dark. We go to the crem to light the lanterns on my grandsons resting place in the baby garden...need to go before it closes. And then start trick or treating at nearest houses & work our way back home.

Juanbablo · 31/10/2018 13:38

Dd is going to a friends after school for tea and the get ready for trick or treating. Then they are coming here to trick or treat with me and ds1 and ds2. I think ds1's friend is coming along too.

PickAChew · 31/10/2018 13:39

Locking the door and closing the curtains.

DavetheCat2001 · 31/10/2018 13:59

I've put the pumpkins out and decorated the outside of the house ready for when my two get home from school.

Then we are waiting for one of DS's friends to arrive over at about 5.30pm, then heading for a Halloween tea at another friends house in the next street, after which we will be out T or T'ing.

I have emergency booze for the grown ups Grin

I love Halloween!

DavetheCat2001 · 31/10/2018 14:01

My pumpkin has gone all mouldy inside! I opened the lid earlier and put my hand straight into a load of mould-fluff and mush boak

It's pumpkinny face is all collapsing in on itself too Grin

That'll learn me not to carve the bloody thing the weekend before!

DailyMailFail101 · 31/10/2018 14:15

@DavetheCat2001 mould adds to the festivities 🤣 pretend you did it on purpose

Cineraria · 31/10/2018 14:47

We went to a Halloween themed session of our regular Wednesday toddler music group with the boys wearing their skeleton pyjamas and then while the boys are napping, I'll attempt to carve the pumpkin. Never done that before so I'm a little nervous, especially as DS1 keeps asking when we are going to eat it! He likes squash very much. We also have some decorations the boys made from a children's craft magazine, so I'll put those in the porch too.

Hopefully we'll get plenty of trick or treaters so the boys can enjoy the bones on their pyjamas that glow in the dark, as they give out the sweets in our dark hallway.

YourMilkshakeIsBetterThanMine · 31/10/2018 15:01

We carved the pumpkins yesterday. I took the DC to a friend's this morning for a Halloween party. My older 2 are watching kiddy Halloween films now. Trick or treating later.

DH and I are going to watch IT when the DC are in bed. I've not seen the new version.

MegGriffin · 31/10/2018 15:08

My children are older so we are going to watch the Queen film at 5 then dinner in wetherspoons. When we get back it will all be over.

Desecratedcoconut · 31/10/2018 15:15

Having a small party and will take the kids Halloweening around the block. We've decorated the house but I still have to sort out food. I have a vampire outfit but it's more, err, "snug" than last year Grin so might give that a miss.

Redglitter · 31/10/2018 15:20

Watching TV in my bedroom so the house appears in darkness. I hate Halloween

theveryhighlife · 31/10/2018 15:20

I'm having a small party at home. I've decorated the house. Pumpkins are out. Younger DS will go trick or treating - I'll be taking him with his friends, whilst older DD hands out the sweets at home.
I love this time of year

RomanyRoots · 31/10/2018 15:25

Nothing, mine are grown up/ out of it.
We don't have kids on our road, but it doesn't stop the teens from egging our house on the way past. Sad
I don't dislike it though and can't wait until grandchild is old enough.
