Oh for goodness sake. I have a crush on the builder

I’m such a cliche - middle aged sahm crushing on the builder. I need strategies to look busy and keep out of the way. Blush

My tumble dryer engineer is about 70 and resembles Jasper Carrott. My biscuits are staying firmly in their tin.

Keyra · 06/11/2018 13:26

Another I hope your tumble drier man sorted your problem, and good luck with your baby.

Cg is a lovely man, I think he's very kind and considerate, and I know he's not attached. Plus he's very good at his job. Plus plus he has all his own teeth (as far as I know)! But I don't fancy him at all.

Busy day tomorrow - tp coming (apparently- will believe it when I see him), also the man who's making the kitchen units, also cb and cg. No csb though - I'll miss him, he's funny.

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks - can I put this to use somehow do you think?!

Oh just read that the tumble dryer man resembles Jasper Carrott. Just as well, you don't need any unnecessary excitement at your stage of the game!

Keyra I shall be eating my biscuits by myself and going for a nap - that's as exciting as it gets!

Keyra · 06/11/2018 13:36

Sounds perfect Another! Enjoy.

My god! This was me a few months ago, had a total crush on our project manager. He was fit. He kept dropping into conversion with dh and with me and dh that he had a girlfriend. Even if he didn't have one don't think he'd have been interested. He was about 10 years younger than me.

OP- well done. Think you've done brilliantly. I am rubbish at flirting so didn't even try and when I like someone I try to act normal but think I come across as aloof. All
Our conversations were about the house, I find it very hard to take it to on to other things.

Anyway I have dh and dcs but didn't stop me fantasising a bit. Found myself putting make up on, thinking about what I wear and doing my hair much more.

Really have to place mark after reading, I NEED to know what happens Grin

What happened at the end of gardener thread?! I missed It!!

Gloopy · 06/11/2018 14:13

Placemarking....

Sorry.. Not sorry... 😂 (I'm really excited for you OP)

glutten4punishment · 06/11/2018 14:15

Best. Thread. Ever. I'm totally over invested in this and I'm not even sorry.

picklemepumpkin · 06/11/2018 14:24

Make yourself a cake with a candle, to share with them. Hope CB asks you out for a birthday drink.

Keyra · 06/11/2018 14:25

Smelly I may be misremembering but didn't they have a baby? No chance of that here!

Will you all still love me if they finish the building work and disappear off into the sunset?! I think that's the most likely outcome.

OP posts:
Keyra · 06/11/2018 14:27

That's a good idea pickle! Although I'd obviously have to buy a cake, given my baking non-prowess. Probably be kitchenless by then too.

SilentIsla · 06/11/2018 14:33

A toothless builder?

SmellySphinx · 06/11/2018 14:43

@Keyra awww really?!! I hope they did Grin

You cannot let him leave the house - work finished - without promises of a date or a drink. The count down to Christmas has started tick tock!!

Can you not delay things? Knock out a few bricks? Loosen some screws?!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 06/11/2018 15:08

Have just read this thread from the beginning and then got to the end and thought, "But...but...what happens next?" As if I were reading a really good book and someone had ripped out the last few pages. I want more instalments, dammit! Grin

Itslookinglikeabeautifulday · 06/11/2018 15:23

Fingers crossed for you Keyra (and blatant placemarking)

Nyon · 06/11/2018 15:37

Silentisla you’re making it sound much less romantic then it is 😂.

Come on @Keyra, screw your courage to the sticking place and all that 😉 ask him out when he shows you the picture of his cats god I hope he’s not got a DP

picklemepumpkin · 06/11/2018 15:40

Develop the theme, Keyra!

"Oh dear, this place is so depressing all half built and dusty... I'll have to buy a birthday cake instead of my usual home made creation and eat it here amidst the sawdust, all by myself!"

If that doesn't work, then your flogging a dead horse.

legalseagull · 06/11/2018 16:15

Oh God. I had builders in yesterday and I gave them home made cake. They must think I'm well up for it 😂

GummyGoddess · 06/11/2018 19:05

Have you replied yet? Cg could be helping cb if cb is too shy to make a move! Can't you say how quiet it is without cb around or something?

Lucylugs · 06/11/2018 19:14

Are you a redhead by any chance Keyra? I just read a great quote "While the rest of the species is descended from apes, redheads are descended from cats .” .
I reckon if he likes cats he'll get that.Grin

Also my lovely husband had a gorgeous cat when we met. It made me trust him more for some reason.

NancyDonahue · 06/11/2018 19:54

There must be some sort of cat/pussy joke you can come out with to crack the ice Grin

Fashionista101 · 06/11/2018 20:40

@NancyDonahue hahahahhahahahaha I like this idea

halfwitpicker · 06/11/2018 21:02

Your might as well have just dropped your knicks, legal seagull

halfwitpicker · 06/11/2018 21:02

I thought that too Nancy but I was too polite to say
