How much food do you have in the house right now?

Just been speaking to DB who has enough to last him for today and tomorrow plus a box of corn flakes and a mug shot soup thing. We on the other hand could last a fair while and I’ve been putting stuff aside in case of brexit difficulties.

How much do you have in and how long would it last you?

If course I appreciate that some people live hand to mouth. That’s more of a reason for those who are fortunate enough to be able to afford it to put some extra aside so that we don’t all go scrabbling after what’s in the shops if we have bad weather or brexit issues

Could probably feed the whole street until Christmas, might get boring but I have pulses and rice in abundance

I grew up on a farm so inherited my mum’s “might get snowed in “ mentality. We did have periods of being snowed in for weeks back in the seventies.

I’ve always got tins in the cupboard, beans, soup, spaghetti. As winter approaches I put milk and bread in the freezer. I keep pasta too, simple things that can be cooked on a camping stove.

A good stock of cereal is usually around too. We will never starve if we are snowed in for weeks.

Not stockpiling for Brexit though.

I get jittery if my cupboards are almost full to bursting so I reckon I could make do for a month if I need to.

I used to have an apocalypse ready pantry... Sorry bit tetchy until I get to the shops and get back on top again... 🙈

Typo up there 👆 I get jittery if my cupboards are not full. It’s a reaction to childhood poverty rather than Brexit.

Don't forget toilet roll everyone. I have a little hoard of it just in case too.
