Whoever invented it obviously didntbhave small children. Currently lying in bed having a wheels on the bus marathon with the very wide awake toddler.

How's everyone else spending their extra hour?

I don't know how she does it, but DD seems to have an inbuilt sensor. She's 5 now but has never woken before normal (adjusted) wake up time. Me? I've been awake for ages...

fairiedemon · 28/10/2018 05:54

Pretty much the same. The best bit is going to be when 0630 rolls around and no breakfast is provided and all hell will break loose! I sware my DC is actually a Labrador and motivated solely by food!

Chosenbyyou · 28/10/2018 05:54

So my DS now gets up at 4.30!!!

Putting him to bed later last night did nothing so shouldn’t have bothered!

The ‘extra hour in bed’ thing is just a kick in the teeth for parents lol!

MillieMoodle · 28/10/2018 05:55

DS2(2) was awake at 5am so we're watching Ben and Holly in the living room and I'm about to make him some warm milk and me a cup of tea. He is tired and grumpy but won't go back to sleep. DH and DS1(7) are both still asleep. Grrr.

BertramKibbler · 28/10/2018 05:55

Ugh

AnarchyKitty · 28/10/2018 05:56

Wide awake since 4.30 here.

blackcat86 · 28/10/2018 05:57

Got up at 5am to feed DD (10 weeks). Normally I would be ecstatic that she'd slept from the 11pm feed. Less good in daylight savings though. She's now asleep on me so I'm going to just leave it and get her up at 7am. I'm being optimistic that this helps her get on the new time but I bet we're back to the same tomorrow..hubby is snoring away next to me.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 28/10/2018 05:57

I am awake too Blush woke my toddler up mumsnetting

user1493413286 · 28/10/2018 05:57

Pretending to be asleep in the hope DD goes back to sleep - it’s not working

LetsHaveAnotherGo · 28/10/2018 05:58

I'm laid on the couch with a blanket while baby DD is sat in front of Baby TV.

She's teething and got a cold and I can't bring myself to accept that 5am is my new get up time.

I heard DH muttering about getting the snip an hour ago...

user1483387154 · 28/10/2018 05:58

4am here. I'm so tired.

mama1dc · 28/10/2018 05:59

OOOOOH that's why she got up at 5AM is it !! ass wholes 😂😂😂

pinkcarpet · 28/10/2018 06:00

Snap. DD2 wakes every 2 hours at night anyway so I'm in a constant zombie like state but i really could've done without her deciding to start her day at 5.30. That was even with an extra late nap and later bedtime last night. Don't know why i bothered!

socktastic · 28/10/2018 06:00

User, we tried that. He was having none of it! He's also got a horrible snotty cold and a pretty sore cough. Can see us going downstairs soon for nonstop hey duggee episodes.

5 am here, and DS is 3.9... DH and DD still snoozing happily though Angry

IWouldLikeToKnow · 28/10/2018 06:02

Yep, going on since 4.45 here. Soul destroying!!! Tried keeping him up a bit later last night too, so going to have a cranky 3 yr old for the day whilst my husband sleeps as he's on nights this weekend

niceupthedance · 28/10/2018 06:02

530 here and DS is nearly EIGHT. When will it end ughh

GingerLemonTea · 28/10/2018 06:02

What time is it?
I’m not sure if my phone has automatically adjusted?

SisterSledgeHammer · 28/10/2018 06:03

We're watching Mary Poppins in the dark here!

DS had an accident at 3:30 and didn't settle after. I gave up trying to get back to sleep about half an hour ago.

That extra hour is just going to make today extra long!

SisterSledgeHammer · 28/10/2018 06:03

It's 6am

BitchQueen90 · 28/10/2018 06:04

I'm awake and 5yo DS is not. Angry

I let him stay up until 10pm last night so that he wouldn't be awake too early and guess who was the one that woke up at 5.45 Angry

Ratbagcatbag · 28/10/2018 06:04

5 yo woke at 5:30 (which is later than the 5am I expected!!). I’ve lobbed the iPad at her with headphones so I can —mumsnet— snooze.

BillywigSting · 28/10/2018 06:05

Been up about half an hour now so not as bad as some.

Dp is snoring away upstairs. I've just given ds his breakfast in the living room and I'm trying and failing to doze on the couch.

Daylight savings, an extra hour in bed! (parents of young children need not apply)

8FencingWire · 28/10/2018 06:06

4.40 am here! I think I’ll finish the coffee and then do a basket of ironing, and when it’s light, I’ll go for a run. Then go back to bed 😂

pennyw85 · 28/10/2018 06:07

I'm desperately trying to push my 3 month olds morning bottle back half an hour to try and keep the day semi on track, 7 minutes done, 23 to go 😂
