It doesn’t look good does it?

Really hope that things are not as bad as it seems but the fact the police are not saying anything about survivors being taken to hospital speaks volumes.

That came out wrong - I sounded too dogmatic

But I’m sure you all know what I mean

VanillaSugary · 27/10/2018 23:32

Absolutely- we understand what you mean

BlackeyedGruesome · 27/10/2018 23:35

how awful.

It is surprisingly close to where I used to live, though it has all changed now.

cheesemongery · 27/10/2018 23:42

Absolutely horrific, I was so shocked logging on and seeing the news. The last time I logged on Gary Linekar was tweeting re Glen Hoddle.

Just terrible. Thoughts are with the families of those involved.

April2020mom · 27/10/2018 23:46

My deepest condolences to everyone affected by the incident.

VanGoghsDog · 27/10/2018 23:47

Some people are also tweeting that they have not heard from friends/family who attended the game - as it came down in a car park one can't help but think there could be other casualties as well as those in the helicopter - just awful.

Helicopters are dangerous things.

cheesemongery · 27/10/2018 23:50

I'm hoping that all those attending the match are safely travelling home. I read that it was the staff car park, not the public one. Not that it makes any difference to those affected.

BaldricksCoffee · 27/10/2018 23:50

Gary Lineker has just said that there will be a further statement about the accident in due course.

Nesssie · 27/10/2018 23:51

It came down in the staff car park so hopefully won’t have been any fans involved.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 27/10/2018 23:51

Gary Lineker looks exhausted- no surprise really

VillanellesBrownWig · 27/10/2018 23:52

Thoughts and prayers to the folk of Leicester 🙏 Sad

AlexanderHamilton · 27/10/2018 23:59

Gary Lineker was so professional.

Today is a sad day for football. Prayers for Glen Hoddle too.

AsleepAllDay · 28/10/2018 00:01

OP it's real

AlexanderHamilton · 28/10/2018 00:03

ITV news are showing pictures of an ambulance leaving the ground without flashing lights.

It was the twitter post confirming three fatalities that I was saying was fake, obviously the incident itself is real and doesn’t look like a good outcome but people posting names and stuff before anything confirmed is sick.

AlexanderHamilton · 28/10/2018 00:09

Gary Lineker has just tweeted that was the most difficult MOTD he’s ever hosted.

Some very shoddy journalism tonight from major news outlets and some reporters on Twitter. They're clearly trying to fill the void before the statement is released (and presumably no full well who was on board as the take off was filmed) but the speculation is so distasteful.

Not a football fan sorry but very upset at this awful tragedy. Keeping everything crossed for hope upon hope Flowers for all involved

Babyroobs · 28/10/2018 00:15

Dreadful - my DS1 had just been to the match and we met him to have a meal and saw all the fire engines and Ambulances rushing to the KP. So sad. Thoughts are with all involved.

VanillaSugary · 28/10/2018 00:17

There will be a lot of people wanting to go to pay their respects at some point. But I agree, tonight is probably not the best time.

TheDuchessOfSex · 28/10/2018 00:19

I do wonder about the mouth breathers that on hearing the news make their way to the stadium to watch the drama.

It's very strange, isn't it? I was once leaving a crowded park when an emergency services helicopter came down to land. We stopped and watched thinking it was part of a display or something (there were events going on, it was summer). When the chopper landed it was suddenly clear that they were arriving to give emergency medical assistance, so DH and I started taking our children to the park exit. We were pretty shocked to see lots of others heading TOWARDS the chopper to get a better look at what was going on Hmm.

Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 00:20

Reports that chairman wasn't there tonight

Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 00:22

And Karen Brady confirmed all her club were away safe
