Who else has gone into Full Autumn Mode today?

DS and I have had the most autumn of autumn days. He’s wheezy and snotty, so we sacked off plans to traipse across town to DMs and instead we’ve:

Carved pumpkins (pump-ings as they will now be forever known (he’s two. Halloween Grin))
Roasted the seeds with allspice and brown sugar
Made a steak and ale pie
Swept the fallen leaves from the paths and patios into the compost heap
Picked the last of the golden raspberries
Cut back the sad honeysuckle and other climbers
Dismantled the old broken dining chairs for next weeks bonfire
Watched all the seasonal Sarah and Ducks (twice)
Found all the winter bird feeders and declared the avian fatball buffet open for 2018.
Danced to the Monster Mash Halloween GrinHalloween Grin
Wiped his nose 600000000 times- mostly on non-tissue items Halloween Envy (not envy)- the most seasonal pastime of all!

Now on round 3 of Sarah and Duck with a glass of ale leftover from pie making.... and a packet of chocolate biscuits.

Who else is Autumning hard today?

Got my big coat out.
Made my Christmas cake!

Defender90 · 27/10/2018 16:54

Made a pot of soup
Filed up the bird feeders and cleaned the bird bath.
Looked at the leaves and fallen apples and promised to sweep them up tomorrow.

LaurieFairyCake · 27/10/2018 16:55

Ate chips and tomato ketchup

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/10/2018 17:22

Hung out some washing but accepted it wouldn't dry (cold/windy but sunny , good for white sheets)

Tried to cut some branches for our Hallowe'en Tree but too cold

Ate a big bowl of pasta Grin

DH is watching "Haunting of Hill House" which is quite seasonal .

GiantKitten · 27/10/2018 17:26

Wearing 2 layers indoors today.
And wore gloves on a walk.
That’s as far it goes for me Grin

TillyVonMilly · 27/10/2018 17:28

Put food in the bird feeders, raked up loads more leaves 🍁,
Shifted plants into the greenhouse
Planted winter bedding
Made parkin Smile

scrivette · 27/10/2018 17:29

I have put on a jumper today and wore boots instead of flip flops or ballet pumps.

AnyFucker · 27/10/2018 17:30

Went for a walk in the woods. Came back and had a nap under a blanket on the sofa.

ohtheholidays · 27/10/2018 18:02

Had the heating on most of the day and am now lazing around with my dressing gown over my legs.

LtGreggs · 27/10/2018 18:04

Wore my woolly hat for the first time this season!

SewButtons · 27/10/2018 18:10

Heating on for the first time today (actually the first time ever as we only moved in in April). Very much looking forward to my first winter in 7years in a house with doubled glazed windows.

Finally put away the fans from summer instead of leaving them cluttering the spare room.

Might have to put the winter duvet on the bed when I changed the sheets tomorrow.

TheSheepofWallSt · 27/10/2018 18:14

I just started the new Netflix Sabrina series last night.... it’s extremely melodramatic, but super spooky... think Buffy meets hammer horror meets..... Dawson’s Creek? Also veg seasonal- looking forward to bingeing on the next few episodes when DS is in bed tonight

We were more in winter mode. I drove home from work in the snow this morning, dd made a snowman, she and ds2 had a snowball fight. They drank hot chocolate. The house dropped below 15c so I've had the heating on for the first time.

iVampire · 27/10/2018 18:19

I wore my windproof running tights for the first time in months for Parkrun today.

And am having red wine (which I don’t drink often, as I’ve largely lost my tolerance to it) from the once-a-year wine glasses with bats on them

I love the autumn!

CartwheelCath · 27/10/2018 18:22

I did my first beef stew and dumplings yesterday.
Put on my winter woollies today and am hankering after a bowl of soup!

LuxuryWoman2018 · 27/10/2018 18:27

Thermal socks and camisole on, I’m under a heap of cosy blankets and just lit a wood wick candle.

I’d like a bath to warm me through but can’t be bothered to leave the sofa, might have a sherry while I watch strictly

Fluffiest · 27/10/2018 18:33

We've put the fire on, I made a little finger food buffet for tea and we are watching the Nightmare before Christmas.

NigelGresley · 27/10/2018 18:39

Don’t know about Autumn but where I am it feels like we’ve suddenly been plunged into the depths of midwinter! It was snowing heavily this morning and there was 2 inches of snow a few miles up the road.

TheProvincialLady · 27/10/2018 18:48

Lit a coal fire, made soup and putnhe electric blankets on the beds!

Jackshouse · 27/10/2018 18:48

DD waterproof trousers have arrived as the puddlesuits are nolonger going to cut it. I have put my boots, hat and scarf on tonight.

I definitely need to think of winter veggie meals.

Upsy1981 · 27/10/2018 19:35

Had a roast chicken dinner followed by fruit strudel and custard, woolly hat was on, picked the thick quilt up from the cleaners about to pluck up the energy to actually put it on the bed.

GiantKitten · 27/10/2018 19:38

@PlayingForKittens
@NigelGresley

Whereabouts are you? (Roughly)

East Lancs here, was chilly & cloudy early on, & a friend saw some snowflakes swirling high up above Accrington this morning, but not snowball amounts Shock

BroomOnTheRoom · 27/10/2018 19:40

We had casserole and jacket potatoes for lunch.

Dh lit the fire.

Dd wore her woolly hat for the first time this autumn.

It's definitely wintery out there tonight!

clary · 27/10/2018 19:46

I should have done.. went into tone with Dd and neither of us wore a coat, just from habit as it's been so nice this, week/last week - we got really cold!

Also went running this am in shorts (frost on ground!).

Have had the heating on for the first time tho and had a long bubble bath.

70isalimit I actually got some washing dry outside! I'm in Derbyshire and it was snowing in the North of the county today (not here tho!)

NigelGresley · 27/10/2018 19:48

North east, County Durham area
