Who else has gone into Full Autumn Mode today?

DS and I have had the most autumn of autumn days. He’s wheezy and snotty, so we sacked off plans to traipse across town to DMs and instead we’ve:

Carved pumpkins (pump-ings as they will now be forever known (he’s two. ))
Roasted the seeds with allspice and brown sugar
Made a steak and ale pie
Swept the fallen leaves from the paths and patios into the compost heap
Picked the last of the golden raspberries
Cut back the sad honeysuckle and other climbers
Dismantled the old broken dining chairs for next weeks bonfire
Watched all the seasonal Sarah and Ducks (twice)
Found all the winter bird feeders and declared the avian fatball buffet open for 2018.
Danced to the Monster Mash
Wiped his nose 600000000 times- mostly on non-tissue items (not envy)- the most seasonal pastime of all!

Now on round 3 of Sarah and Duck with a glass of ale leftover from pie making.... and a packet of chocolate biscuits.

Who else is Autumning hard today?

I turned on the heating this evening for the first time this winter... and I've got my slippers on. DH took the DC out earlier and they were basically spherical with all the clothes he put on them!

I put my bobble hat on and ate a toffee apple 🍏

Made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Walked dog with gloves scarf and hat on 🍂
Mowed lawn, stacked logs and lit fire.
Made soup for lunch.
Checked the weather eleventybillion times as I can’t believe it’s SO COLD ❄️

I've had a week off work, its been great.
So for Autumn I've stayed in, boyf has fucked off fishinv, and I'm drinking to block out the dread of returning to work on Monday. Seriously. I'm already stressing 🙄🙄😓😓😓

I went full Autumn about 2 weeks ago. I was dreaming of this during the hot Summer so the second first leaves fell I was ready.

Nails painted in a deep berry colour. Just bought a brown shade that has a slight bit of shimmer in it. (Nicer than it sounds.) Bolder lipstick. Had hair recoloured so it's a rich conker brown. Been wearing jumpers, cord skirts, velvet jeans, opaques and fur lined boots.

Bought some hanging spiced things made of pine cones, cinnamon sticks and dried oranges. Collected conkers, mini pine cones and prickly conker cases to do some poncey arranging. Also got a couple of gingerbread candles.

Found some fancy looking pumpkins/goards for the table and two big ones to carve for the front porch.

Looking forward to doing a stew next week and I fancy baking some biscuits.

I don't like it going dark early but Autumn is my favourite season. All the colours and cosiness, it's so nice.

Curled up in a jumper with all my candles/fairy lights lit, candles in the pumpkins I carved on tues, a blanket over my lap, knitting and strictly Halloween special! Have just had sausages, cauliflower cheese and roasted butternut squash, potatoes and parsnips! Feeling very autumnal!

Only on Wednesday, the DC were in t-shirts, shorts & crocs. Today was thermal long sleeve tops under jumpers, jeans, thick sodK's, winter coats, hats & gloves. Such a contrast!

I’ve been excited for autumn since... last autumn! I love it. I love the smell of wood burners when I’m out for a walk, the leaves, all the little ones in hats and mittens and wellies...

We’ve carved our pumpkins and put them by the door, candles are like each evening and next door has a Halloween party this evening so my youngest enjoyed some toffee apples, apple dunking and fireworks.

I'm trying to embrace autumn-made a hearty veg soup, roast pork and apple sauce, enjoyed an open fire and red wine at a friend's house... AMD I'm using the cat as a hot water bottle!
Going to do Halloween preparations with the DC tomorrow to get everyone in an autumnal mood!

I bought new gloves today. Spent about an hour sweeping up 1% of the leaves in the garden (we are surrounded by trees and have lots of our own). Bought parsnips to make soup for lunch tomorrow.

I also planted a few dozen daffodil bulbs which feels autumny but will grow into springy things

Got out my Norwegian jumper.
Brought in logs from the woodshed and lit the open fire.
Made everyone a hot chocolate mid afternoon.
Went to a bonfire and fireworks display.

I've had the heating on for several weeks. Made pumpkin soup once. I'm done with autumn/winter now and can't wait for the nice warm weather to return ☀️

GiantKitten I'm in county Durham as well.

I went for a run in my down jacket as the wind was so icy and strong it was hard to stay upright at times.

I sorted out all the millions of hats/scarves/gloves in the cupboard under the stairs.

We carved pumpkins, went to a firework display and, best of all, I got to wear my new winter coat

I looked up recipes for soups and bought some ‘Christmas blend’ coffee.

Co Durham obv the snow capital of England today!

Got back very late last night from lovely warm, sunny Barcelona to trays temperatures were a bit of a shock.

Have basically spent the day under a blanket and the cats, t'internettng and watching telly.

Have broken out the red wine this evening which is a definite sign that it's autumn in my house.

On ‘tinterweb in The Big Cardigan which only comes out in the cold.

Ate a toffee apple. (My teeth didnt thank me)

Bought loads little squashes from the farm shop. To use as decoration then eat.

Bought some Celeriac, romansco brocolli and turnips from veg shop (always try to buy in season!)

Took winter coats to the dry cleaners and a few pairs boots cobblers to be rehealed.

Snuck up on me a little this year so feel unprepared.
