Recently we were sat in the departures lounge for a flight to Faro. Some very 'hench' young gentlemen were also passengers. My DS kept nudging me, they were all professional rugby players taking time out to play golf in the Algarve. The one sat next to my DM was a Welsh international.

LolaVsPowerman · 24/10/2018 22:59

I’ve met Robert Smith and Simon Gallup from The Cure. It will forever be the best night of my life 🤩

Sakura7 · 24/10/2018 22:59

I was in Singapore airport years ago on my way home from Oz, and I saw a few lads walking around in parkas and with shades on. I said to my friend at the time "state of them, do they think they're Oasis or something?"

I forgot about it and about 20 minutes later I was standing in a queue at a shop, turned around and there was Noel Gallagher standing behind me in the queue (minus the shades). I was way to starstruck to say anything.

Toddled off to the gate and as we're boarding along come Oasis. People were very excited to be on the same flight as them!

GhoulishGremlins · 24/10/2018 23:02

I'd love to meet Mary Berry.

At the other end of the musical spectrum, I met Gary Barlow and Mark Owen (also in an airport). Wasn't as scared to approach them, they were lovely and I got pictures with them.

uhhuhhoney · 24/10/2018 23:05

Walked past Tom Daley yesterday at Euston station.

WhatAboutTheWeather · 24/10/2018 23:12

I was sitting in an empty pub with my friend when somebody who looked just like Justin Bieber walked in with a large group of blokes. We left coz it got too noisy to talk. The next day there was an article in the local press about JBs surprise visit to our town and his evening out with the local sports team.

EstuaryBird · 24/10/2018 23:16

Axl Rose shook my hand Grin

DevaDiva · 24/10/2018 23:16

Quite a few through work but best has got to be Alex and Andy from
CBeebies at Glastonbury - 2 years in a row we had a lovely long chat with them in the Kidz field 😀

Couple of work ones was Russell Watson warming up his voice in my office, carrying Kim Marsh' dry cleaning for her (she said there was no need) and chatting to Prince Charles about Farm Shops.

Bunnyhop1502 · 24/10/2018 23:22

I met Alan Rickman. He was a grumpy dream. Gary Oldman is shorter than I expected. The best one was Julie Walters came into my pub and as she came up to the bar I said “Alright Julie what can I get you” thinking that I knew her and she was one of my regulars.

amandadecabernet · 24/10/2018 23:30

Sat back to back with Madonna (with Guy Ritchie and two other men) in a pub in Kensington some time around the late 90s. She was wearing a very beautiful tailored tweed coat with wings (painted? printed?) on the back. I believe she had half a Guiness which she didn't finish. When she went out to the car the barmaid went haring out to give them back the box of matches they'd left on the table. Hmm

mikapatika · 24/10/2018 23:30

Once sat at the table next to Leo Sayer in a Burger King 😂

LadyDuplo · 24/10/2018 23:31

Julie Walters - seen sitting in WHSmith in Guildford
The blonde lady from the Philadelphia adverts - m&s Guildford
Ralf little - outside hmv on Oxford st
Denzil from ofah - walking down a London street
Brian dowling - Leicester Square
Tim Vincent - boots in Swansea
David Beckham - outside the office of the Auckland bridge climb company

Think there's others too but they've escaped me

My mum served in sainsburys nasty nick from easterners- but didn't recognise him

Novasglow · 24/10/2018 23:31

I met Rammstein at a signing in London.

Jason Momoa, David Anders, Billy Zane and Frankie Muniz at comic cons.

Did a couple of meet and greets with Seether.

Some more GoT cast members.

Trivium.

GhoulishGremlins · 24/10/2018 23:32

David Cameron was in my local shopping centre, and had stopped to eat in a restaurant which I passed

Lol nothing too exciting! My mum once spoke to the bee gees on the street Shock

Clearthinking · 24/10/2018 23:39

Served Madge from neighbours some curtains. She was sat on the wrong side of the desk we served at but didn't dare get her to move.

HoobleDooble · 24/10/2018 23:41

I served Tracey Shaw (played Maxine in Corro) and Kevin Lloyd (Tosh Lines in the Bill) quite often when I worked in Sainsburys. Also saw Robert Lindsay in a pub we go to quite often for Sunday lunch, and I did that thing where you know you've seen them before and think you know them personally but can't remember where you know them from. Fortunately DH put me straight before I went up and asked him! 😂

BonnieF · 24/10/2018 23:42

I was a Labour Party activist in a very important Midlands marginal constituency in the late 90s, so I met most of the senior New Labour people, including Tony & Cherie Blair, John Prescott, Jack Straw, David Blunkett, Geoff Hoon, Margaret Beckett etc etc.

BonnieF · 24/10/2018 23:46

@Hooble

I went to school with Tracey, although she was a few years younger than me. I remember the school did a production of the musical Annie in which she played the lead role. She as always going to become an actress.

HildaZelda · 24/10/2018 23:48

David 'Del Boy' Jason and the late Dolores O' Riordan. Both were lovely.

Dhalandchips · 24/10/2018 23:50

Jackie Chan is lovely.
Alex and Katie from cbeebies are too. Andy, less so!
Robson Green not terribly friendly.
Bob Mortimer is dead cute!

Love reading these kind of threads

Sicario · 24/10/2018 23:56

I had a fag outside a restaurant with Suggs. We were both a bit pissed and it was lunchtime. I have a horrible feeling I might have sung a bit of "baggy traasis" with matching dancing.

Sicario · 24/10/2018 23:58

Oh christ... and there was that time in a hotel lobby with Sarah Ferguson and I think I asked her what the hell she'd done to her face...
