The Herbal Essences one. Confused the one that goes ‘ahhh oooooh’ all the way through it... because if you listen closely behind the ‘ahhh oooh’ tune there’s a lady saying ‘yes, yes, yes!’ on repeat and I just think it’s a tad too... orgasmic sounding for shampoo Shock - made by the same people who made organic yoghurts I’m sure?

YY I know if I know what it’s advertising then it’s effective etc... just irritates me.

Oh and the shitty nationwide ones with the pretentious shitty poems.

Regale me with your most fury inducing advert MNetters please do.

There's a really weird one, possibly for insurance or house selling, which has a young black guy talking over the fence to his neighbour who is lying on a chair wearing yellow with a huge stomach! Then the big stomach guy becomes an old lady in yellow doing exercises! Anyone know what's supposed to be happening in it?Grin

IWantChocolates · 24/10/2018 10:08

Definitely agree with the Halifax ones using classic old films. Just leave them alone and think of something original, ffs. You'll have a generation of kids who think that they go all that way to the Emerald City just to meet a man from the bank. I really, really hate it.

I mute during advert breaks so no idea what goes on in most of them!

PositivePeach · 24/10/2018 10:09

Gtec 😡

Sets the dogs off, every bloody time. They now recognise the sound of the ad as well.

DollyWilde · 24/10/2018 10:11

Ooh, Wayfair ones with Lorraine Kelly. Definitely.

beefchowmein · 24/10/2018 10:13

Dan and his delta self
Nicole sherzibger with her yoghurt. So annoying!
Agree re the right move ad that it initially seems like the old couple have died!

Starisnotanumber · 24/10/2018 10:20

Center parks. There are no little robots who miraculously appear in the leaves or a great forest whale.
Why not concentrate on nature that is there rather than things that aren't.
Disappointed children hoping to see something different than in countryside near home, thought it was like a zoo with unusual animals etc

catcreptin · 24/10/2018 10:27

Those awful Sixt car hire adverts, "Drive Smug"!

I can't believe an ad agency had the nerve to produce a range of adverts that are so unbelievably shite.

ginghamstarfish · 24/10/2018 10:31

Oh yes, the Halifax ones are so weird. Can't believe somebody got paid for that. Re incontinence pants, I did see one for men's a while back, I think it features an Asian man wearing them while doing martial arts moves ....only saw it once though.

naeaffyweel · 24/10/2018 10:38

Local one - Kitchens and Bathrooms Direct , absolutely horrendous accents that make my toes curl

National one - secret escapes , trivago etc

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 24/10/2018 10:42

"coke please".
" with or without sugar?"
"either, I just love Coke".

Bejazzled · 24/10/2018 10:46

Any of the patronising toothpaste/shampoo/beauty product adverts.
The faux scientific terminology, the simpering with wide mouths, the not very pretty singer who 'strengthens her hair as well as her body', the not very good tennis player who advertises sanitary products that let her live her life to the full (even though she blamed period pain for losing a match 🙄)

Rant over

Arrivederci · 24/10/2018 10:53

Whoisyourdaddy aww I love the flash singing dog adverts

whyispeppainthenightgarden · 24/10/2018 10:54

Shaker baker drives me nuts

Arrivederci · 24/10/2018 10:57

@Clawdy I also love that garden fence advert! Noooooo derek

dingdongdigeridoo · 24/10/2018 11:04

"either, I just love Coke". the way he says that with that weird grin on his face makes me think he’s talking about the other type of coke, if you know what I mean...

The Lloyds advert with the horses gets on my tits SO much. And if you watch All4 you have to suffer through it constantly. The cover version of You’re Not Alone is bloody awful. A total dirge. Then there’s all the cheesy imagery of wide eyed children and a horse nuzzling a pregnant woman’s stomach. It’s a shitty bank FFS, they don’t care about you.

The one with the woman who says ‘I know how to take care of my body, but how do I take care of my teeth?’ U OK hun? I’m very concerned that a grown woman can’t look after her own teeth. Does she need a carer?

SistersOfHearsey · 24/10/2018 11:13

Current annoyance is Hannah on the bus on her way to a school reunion and pulling faces like she's about to shit herself.
Really really irritating.

Oh and yes, those horses. Wtf is that all about? Is there some magical gathering of black horses on a beach once a year I don't know of?

phantomofthenorthlaine · 24/10/2018 11:54

And this is why I never watch 'live' TV! Haha! Gleefully read this thread and realised I have no clue about most of these ads.

AllTakenSoRubbishUsername · 24/10/2018 12:00

Anything where you get shouted at - webuyanycar.com and go compare. Specsavers ones are the best!

Tadda · 24/10/2018 12:02

Definitely the Lorraine Kelly Wayfair 'They don't just sell shit for poor people y'know' advert...

PerpendicularVincent · 24/10/2018 12:03

I came on here to moan specifically about the Herbal Essences advert with the stupid 'ooh ah' song with the annoying fake trumpet at the end.

Also the advert with Alan Titchmarsh in that tells me that choosing cremation is the cheapest option. Cheers for that, Al

grasspigeons · 24/10/2018 12:08

Mine is a Facebook add for name labels. It has a historic picture of a mum sewing name labels into a uniform entitled 1950 and then another image 'now showing a mum sticking labels on. It's message is around how things change for the better. But all I see is it's still effing mum doing the bloody name labels.

Clawdy · 24/10/2018 12:08

Hate the Wayfare one too, Lorraine Kelly pretending to be amazed that everything in the house is Wayfare, then that silly dance....

Ioki · 24/10/2018 12:10

Lorraine Kelly irritates me as it is so seeing her do Wayfair annoys me even more, even the lady in the advert is pissed off the way she says ‘YES Lorraine’ Grin

MarthaArthur · 24/10/2018 12:12

Oh god yes. Furniture to.suit every budget as my ma says "so they sell shit quality furniture for poor people too."

I love the garden fence "who's derek?" Makes me lol

anitagreen · 24/10/2018 12:13

@MissMarplesKnitting sorry but leave BARRY SCOTT alone I actually enjoy seeing him lol
