Hi all

I’m doing a bit of research and hoped you could help me out.

What have you spent on your kids last birthday party?

Inclusive of the cost of venue hire, decor, food, entertainer, plastic tut bags etc.

Extra points if you can say where abouts you are in the country and age of the little subject too.

Thank you very much!!

Are you writing an article?

titchy · 21/10/2018 22:57

Aargh why do my emojis not work on the app?!!!! Anyone else have this problem?

No details until OP provides some.

Why are you asking OP? Daily Mail fodder?

3in4years · 21/10/2018 23:14

So far we have got away with party tea at home and one 3rd birthday party. That one was hall hire £20, party bags £25, food and cake £30, entertainer £30... around £100 All in?

SequinsOnEverything · 21/10/2018 23:31

Even when it was a whole class party with a bouncy castle, I've never spent more than £100. I can't believe how much people spend! I was shocked at £250 total, let alone £250 per child!

Skittlesandbeer · 21/10/2018 23:42

Just joining in to say that things are equally crazy on the other side of the planet. Leafy suburbs of east coast Australia, last 3 8yo parties we’ve been to this year:

-£300 clip n climb (rock climbing, with pizza & birthday cake). 15 kids.
-£375 hired in silent disco & caterers at home. 17 kids.
-£200 paid entertainer in hall, mum catering. 20 kids.

My 8yo party in late 1970’s- about £40 for bbq lunch, cake & balloons in the garden. 5 kids (2 of them cousins)

Minniemountain · 22/10/2018 07:01

What is the research for? Presumably if it were your own DC you would ask those in a specific area Hmm
