I have an outrageous 960. I really need to do some email housekeeping... Can anyone else beat that?

I really need to sort it out.

19,000, 649. Sorry, I’m using dictation and I don’t think it route that correctly. 19, 649, in other words a lot. I always intend to delete them, but I delete 100 and then more appear.

mikapatika · 21/10/2018 21:54

35182 unread 😳😂

LBOCS2 · 21/10/2018 21:56

72,629.

I had none as I was importing all my emails from one account into another, and keeping on top of it. But then it all went wrong and I had to just add the second account and it turns out it was just leaving them there unread and now I have 72,600 unread emails (except I probably have read them in the past three years).

How do you know? I've had a Hotmail email address for 20 years and rarely delete anything so probably hundreds of thousands but I can't work out how to find out and now I really want to know...

What do you mean by file them? Sorry if that sounds daft but I only keep relevant ones and would love an empty email box but don't know how to file them away.

I can't imagine ever getting through them. I have at least glanced at some point to see who they're from but I guess I should be ruthless!

Delatron · 21/10/2018 22:46

I once tried to file emails and lost loads/couldn’t find them. Was a faff too.
I don’t stress about the 1000s I have. I just read important ones and ignore the rest.

Work or personal?

Work - zero
Personal - thousands

mrscee · 21/10/2018 22:56

24521 many crap emails that I can't be arsed to look at. I should delete but it would take ages

Thatstheendofmytether · 21/10/2018 22:59

Mine just says 99+ so I don't know I would imagine tens of thousands.

5 atm. I check and delete several times a day. Most get zapped without me opening them. I read very few.

TheHatOfDoom · 21/10/2018 23:24

0 (because I cleared them after reading this thread).

I had 10 unread but used to regularly have between 50-100 if I had a busy few days with little time for email. Then I went on a massive unsubscribe spree a few months ago.

leghairdontcare · 21/10/2018 23:29
  1. Work inbox is a lot more compact. Comes in handy if you want to remember something from 2009 though.
