I am wanting to get some inspiration for a holiday next year and also I will admit I'm being nosey! (Please don't answer if you're not comfortable)

I will start.... myself and my DH went on our honeymoon to Singapore and bali for 2 weeks. (No children) We paid £1500 each! I did everything myself and booked all my hotels via quidco to get some cash back!

Please don't see this post as a brag post, for your info I was actually ill for 7 days with food poisoning so not as glam as it sounds! very gutted =(

Me and the fella did three nights in the Lake District. Trains and youth hostel, cost about £300 in total. Going to York in December - same sort of thing for same price. We're the kind and queen of cheapskate holidays.

MegBusset · 20/10/2018 21:00

£600 for a week in The Peak District in the summer, plus petrol and eating out, spending money etc so probably around a grand all in.

NickMarlow · 20/10/2018 21:02

£410 for 10 nights in a very basic caravan park in Bournemouth. That budget was a stretch for us. Well worth it thanks to this summer's heatwave, a wonderful last holiday for the 3 of us before dd2 was born.

AntiSocialAgnes · 20/10/2018 21:02

Me and DH
one week camping in Northumberland - £400

one week camping in Dorset - £600 (joined for most of the week by 2 adult DC)

5 day city break in Bath - £500

Two week cruise round the Baltic - £6000

Groovee · 20/10/2018 21:04

A weekend at Easter in a lodge with a hot tub. £400 shared with my parents. In the Scottish Borders.

Summer 5 days in Yorkshire £176 for the caravan. Petrol and food money about £300.

Last week. Dh and I spent 3 nights in Budapest. £540 for flights and hotel, £45 airport transfers, £58 Budapest Card, £33 river cruise then spending money at £250. Ds stayed with the in-laws and Dd states with them one night and they took her up to uni x

Jaimx86 · 20/10/2018 21:05

Our main holiday as a couple was to Greece for two weeks - spent £7000 including spending money. We’re going back next year for three weeks so that we can explore more islands: we’re flying to Mykonos and then going to Syros and Tinos. I
Imagine we’ll spend £8000

We also do a few weekend breaks in the UK. Every few years we do a winter break too to somewhere lone Iceland or New York, but that equates to £11000+ On foreign breaks a year so we don’t do that annually.

bellsbuss · 20/10/2018 21:07

7 days Dubai family of 6 £7500 , Vilamoura 5 days OH and I £2500. 3 UK breaks £1500 for all of us sharing with family.

CurlsandCurves · 20/10/2018 21:09

£5k on 2 weeks all inclusive to a Greek island. Never the same one twice. And £5k is the top of the budget. Family of 4.

We do get out and about too, don’t just stay in resort, so probably another £200 on car hire and £200 on a couple of meals out.

weegiemum · 20/10/2018 21:10

We went to Spain, Costa del Sol but inland, in the mountains. 5 of us, dh, me, dd1, ds, dd2, all adults on flights. Flights were 1200, villa (with pool) was 3200 for 2 weeks, and eating out, car hire, petrol, ferry trip to Morocco plus hotel probably pushed it to 7000.
We hadn't had a foreign holiday for 3 years (we own a holiday home we usually use when it's not rented out) and given the age of our dc (18,17,14) it might have been our last family holiday together as dd1 is now at uni and has a job), we decided it was worth it. I certainly enjoyed the wine, as I gained 7lb at Slimming world over the 2 weeks!!

Shockers · 20/10/2018 21:15

Skiing for a week +2 days travelling at Easter. We drove- stopping either way in Airbnb’s. Apartment, lift passes, ferry, fuel and stopovers for four adults (our kids are late teens) was in the region of £1800.

We used our caravan for intermediate holidays, which were lots of fun, but probably not what you’re after Grin.

Late August we spent a week near Lisbon in a beach house. Accommodation for four, flights and car hire cost £1800 for a week. It would have cost far less if I’d booked flights earlier though- we had a passport issue.

Shockers · 20/10/2018 21:23

Forgot Copenhagen in February. Possibly £300 for flights and hostel to start with, but we decamped to a spa hotel after a poor night’s sleep, so ended up costing around £700, with a day trip to Sweden. That figure includes meals, drinks, design museum entry and an evening in Tivoli Gardens. DH is a great negotiator- the spa hotel was lovely!

namechangedtoday15 · 20/10/2018 21:31

Skiing for 6 days over Christmas in Italy - £2.5k all in.

9 days in hotel (b&b) in Crete - £4.5k inc spends.

That's for a family of 5 (2 x teens, 1 teen) school holiday prices but I spend an inordinate of time searching for bargains, cheap flights, deals.

Reading some of these posts, I can't wait for the time we just have to pay for 2 of us and can go in term time Grin

Monstersunderthebed · 20/10/2018 21:32

2 adults 4 children Florida £20,000 for everything including travel hotel food parks and spending in malls. It is the best family holiday ever and we have done this for 5 years. We love it

GreenDinosaur · 20/10/2018 21:34

Caravan in Filey with The Sun £9 holiday offer. We aren't Sun readers and I thought it might be a bit naff but it was great actually. Cheap and cheerful, cost less than £100 for the entire 5 day break including our meals and activities.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 20/10/2018 21:36

A week in Cyprus at Easter for us and two kids was £3100 all inclusive. ( wouldn't bother going back and we discovered that all inc is really not our thing)

A week in Corfu during May half term in a villa with private pool was £2100 including flights and car hire ( this was an amazing holiday and we've already re booked for next year)

Two weeks camping in Dorset during the summer heatwave £650 ( one of our best holidays ever )

Justabadwife · 20/10/2018 21:38

@monsters I'm totally jealous. 🤩

We have been away 4 times this year.

Weekend away for a wedding 3 of us (me, Dd and DH) - £200. (Food was included)

Spain for a week all inclusive for me and and dd - £900 + £250 spending money

3 days away in summer in UK me, dd and DM- probably £800 all in

Me and DH midweek break in Nov - probably £500 all in.

GreenDinosaur · 20/10/2018 21:38

I think I must live on a different planet to most of Mumsnet, can't quite get my head around spending £20,000 on a holiday!
Ours was an improvement on the nowhere we've been the last few years tbh.

Bonkersblond · 20/10/2018 21:42

£2500.00 - 3 weeks camping (campervan) in Spain and France, £1k -music festival, probably another 5-6 (lost count) weekends in Camper @£100 each.

FrangipaniBlue · 20/10/2018 21:51

4 nights Disneyland Paris £1500

7 nights camping in the UK £500 (including spends)

Me, DH and DS(10)

SimplyPut · 20/10/2018 21:52

10 days in Menorca £3,800 + £1,500 spending money.

4 nights in London by train £1050 + £2,000 spending money including theatre tickets and Harry Potter tour.

2 nights in Edinburgh £300 + £500 spending money.

Five of us. 2 adults, 2 teens and 1 under 10.

Benji13 · 20/10/2018 21:53

Cannot believe how much people are spending on holidays! There must be some wealthy people here on mumsnet. Thought we were about average with 10 days in Spain at £3k.

FrangipaniBlue · 20/10/2018 21:53

Next year we're doing IOM TT with the in laws (£3k ferry and accommodation)

And Germany for a week just us (£1500)

Neither of above include spending money

RJnomore1 · 20/10/2018 21:54

£3.5 k week in Caribbean fot dh and I and 1.2k week skiing for dd2.

£1k week in Yorkshire for 3 of us; £500 Tenerife for DD1, with her friends

£2.5k this week for Ibiza for me dh and dd2.

Thats quite a lot isn't it 😳

Monstersunderthebed · 20/10/2018 21:56

Prior to this had no family holidays abroad. Kids now 18, 17, 12 and 10 so we went a lot of years with no holidays. Succumbed to pressure from the kids. It was expensive but worth every penny. I dreaded the thought of it and long flight but I loved it. Thinking of trying other places but Florida ticks all the boxes for us as a family. The atmosphere is great. We do universal Disney and other parks such as Busch gardens and legoland when kids were a bit younger.
