seemed lovely but looking back makes you cringe? I remember putting a peach carpet on my bathroom floor in my first flat and loving it and now think OMG!!😂😂

God yes, I loved Pierrot, and my best friend had the bed linen, I thought it was lovely but there was no chance I'd get it 🤣

I reckon in thirty years people will look back and say do you remember when we all painted our houses grey.

Does anyone remember the weird carpet that was made specifically for kitchens?

A strange, artifical plush which gave off static you wouldn't have believed possible and were in no way fit for purpose.

Eatmycheese · 23/10/2018 17:42

@CartwheelCath I had that Pierrot bedding. And curtains. And wallpaper.
My mother has a photo of me standing in front of it with a Tom Cruise ouster placed bang in the middle of the wallpaper. What the actual fuckery was going on there.......

My friend had an idler sister who rag rolled her bedroom in peach and electric blue and gold. It broadly resembled of those eighties sanitary towel wrappers. She was delighted with the effect.

*tom cruise poster.
*am older sister not an idler though she may have been

Shutters- nearly every house in my street has shutters . I used to have them in my old house , but will not get them now as I think they are about to go out and they are not cheap .

@Jakethecob thank you SO much. I saw Signs of the Times years ago - possibly around the time it came out - and have been trying to find it again without being able to remember what it was called. I'll have such happy re-viewing 😊

My pleasure!

Yes we had carpet in the kitchen when I was younger. Along with the wallpaper that had fruit baskets on it and was mostly cream and brown and it constantly seemed to run with condensation when we cooked.
