What kind of food would you like at Bonfire night party?

Last year we had a small party bonfire night watched a local display then went back to my house to do a firepit and fireworks. This year have been asked if we are doing it again it, as it was such good fun!

I put on some hotdogs burgers and a curry.

Would like to do something different food wise this year although hotdogs always go down well so will prob so them again for the kids.

What would you like to eat at a bonfire party? Any sugestions for a dessert?

umberellaonesie · 17/10/2018 10:54

Campfire stew and baked potatoes

Aprilislonggone · 17/10/2018 10:54

Pumpkin soup of course!!

serbska · 17/10/2018 10:55

I was going to say hot dogs or curry or chili!

Not v imaginative but tasty and warm.

NancyDonahue · 17/10/2018 10:57

The hot dogs must be proper sausages and not those floppy things.

Spicy chicken wings.

Hot choc with cream and marshmallows. You can do it in a slow cooker for people to ladle out themselves.

Hotdogs and soup. Followed by lots of traybakes.

All things able to be eaten standing up (soup in cups/mugs) and little need for cutlery.

(When I say hotdogs though - I do mean proper sausages - not actual hotdogs. Go to your local butchers and get different flavours (and veggie ones if need be) - really hearty and filling and perfect dunked in soup.

For dessert if you want more than traybakes then apple pie is the perfect autumnal dessert. To make it easy on yourself you could buy the individual mr Kipling type ones and have them heated and ready to go - kind of like you would do with mince pies at christmas

Number 1 must have is pork pie, mushy peas and mint sauce.
Baked potatoes with chilli and also cheese too.
Parkin

Might be regional, but there would be a riot round here if the above wasn't served.

Jacket potato done in foil on bonfire! Well that’s what we used to do in my day anyway!

Sitranced · 17/10/2018 11:06

Spicy Sausage/chorizo and bean stew
Chilli
Spicy Squash curry

Marmite27 · 17/10/2018 11:07

Hot dogs, soup, jackets with cheese, beans & chilli.

Crumble, sponge puddings and custard.

M0nstermunch · 17/10/2018 11:08

Pie and peas with mint sauce would go down well!

Mummaluelae · 17/10/2018 11:09

Sausage rolls
Pizza
Chicken wings/ drumsticks
Samosas
Cups of soup!

How about cake and custard or some jelly the kids will love after they've eaten like one little thing

fourpawswhite · 17/10/2018 11:09

We have a big fire every year, probably about fifty people so stick to snacking food.

Squash soup with French bread sticks. Homemade sausage rolls, loads of tray bakes. Spicy chicken bits.

BluthsFrozenBananas · 17/10/2018 11:10

We do a family bonfire party every year, we have pulled pork, home made baked beans (Tom Kerridge recipe), rolls, jacket potatoes and grated cheese for everyone to help themselves to. We also make mulled cider and some kind of cake for dessert.

PippaRabbit · 17/10/2018 11:21

I'm making the following for our bonfire party;-

Spicy butternut squash soup
Broccoli and cauliflower soup with or without blue cheese
Ham hock, pea and barley stew with warm crusty bread
Sausage and bean hot pot
Veg stew with herby dumplings
Camembert fondue
Toffee apples
Gingerbread

SheWhoDaresGins2 · 17/10/2018 11:23

Corned beef hash with diced beetroot in. Serve with beans.

Sweet potato, butternut squash, chilli, garlic and coriander soup

ZeroFuchsGiven · 17/10/2018 11:26

LiquoricePickle · 17/10/2018 11:30

Hot dogs or burgers, chili on baked potatoes, toffee apples!

sprinkleofsunshine · 17/10/2018 11:31

Hot dogs are a bonfire night standard.

My aunt used to do mini jacket potatoes baked in foil with a sour cream topping, they were delicious.

Doyoumind · 17/10/2018 11:31

Chestnuts, parkin, pot of something hot.
