No wonder they don't dare name a price!

Surely no one would ever buy this monstrosity.

Much too busy with patterns for me. Even once the owners furniture was taken out if would still be very busy.
I went back for a second look to check the price. Price on Application! That usually means awful expensive. Anything over 10p would be too dear for my taste

Seeingadistance · 08/10/2018 00:45

Wow!

I think it's an amazing house! They'd take all their, interesting furniture and many statues away with them, surely!

KickAssAngel - if you look very closely, past the monstrosity hanging from the kitchen ceiling, there is a window.

MarcieBluebell · 08/10/2018 00:45

Why didn't the photographer say to the owners to get rid of the tiger rug. It's so disgusting.

I could not sleep in that house.

BackToTheFuschia7 · 08/10/2018 00:48

It looks huge from the outside but floor plan shows 3000 sq ft... how?

It could be lovely once the awful furniture and decor is gone.

ChickaaaaannDipppaaaaassss · 08/10/2018 01:12

It gives me the jeebies!
There is something a bit axe murdery about the place.

turns lights on

MO2x · 08/10/2018 01:15

Have imagination!!! If you took out all the crap and the very choice and tasteful decor that property is truly amazing, if I won the lottery I'd love buy something like this with the old features still. Hate modern

AwdBovril · 08/10/2018 01:18

The house is wonderful. The decor is... not to my personal taste.

safariboot · 08/10/2018 01:34

It's like literally living in a period drama. Yeah if I had that kind of money I'd buy it, and keep it as it is. Probably need "staff" to keep it all clean and maintained though Grin

Choccywoccyhooha · 08/10/2018 01:38

It's stunning. The decor and furnishings are terrifying, but the house itself is gorheous.

UpstartCrow · 08/10/2018 01:47

It looks like Alistair Crowley's good twin did the interior.

LEMtheoriginal · 08/10/2018 01:54

I love it but not the decor. I do like the statues of Mary and Jesua but find the fact they appear to be being used ironically offensive. But yes id but that house if they could pick it up and move it

LEMtheoriginal · 08/10/2018 01:56

I suspect POA Means if you have to ask you cant afford it

brizzledrizzle · 08/10/2018 02:03

It's like something out of one of those find the objects games.

Charolais · 08/10/2018 02:07

I love it. The decor is horrid though.

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/10/2018 02:25

So I checked it out to see what else is available. The POA properties always sit in their price range. This one is at the top indicating the asking price is higher than the one at £1.35m.

It’s not to my taste but is an amazing property.

thegreatbeyond · 08/10/2018 02:30

Secluded, and with extensive cellars! :0

inquiquotiokixul · 08/10/2018 02:50

It's guilty of the sin discussed at length on other threads: a small room next to the kitchen is not a bedroom. That is not a 5 bedroom house

But yeah with some work to expunge the terrible flouncy taste of the previous owners it would be OK. My offer price would be about £600k - a little below the typical asking price for similar sized properties in the area, to account for the significant costs of making it habitable.

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 08/10/2018 03:35

It gives me weird vibes. Not for me but I can see it's beauty for others.

CalonGlas · 08/10/2018 03:48

Well, at least the estate agents are using the word ‘iconic’ properly for once...

glintandglide · 08/10/2018 03:52

I love it- isn’t it fascinating how some people live behind closed doors? They’d obviously take all their crazy stuff with them, and it would need a major refurb which would be very expensive

glintandglide · 08/10/2018 03:53

Although if I had £1.3m I wouldn’t be living in that area!

Rockbird · 08/10/2018 04:07

Beautiful house, horrible decor but nothing that a few tins of Timeless wouldn't fix. I'd want them to throw in the statue of the Sacred Heart though, my parish priest would be well jel Grin

Godowneasy · 08/10/2018 06:37

Interesting that the estate agents have used exactly the same marketing photos from when it last sold in 1998 (for £235,000).
Has it really remained unchanged in all that time? Are they still using the same bedding? Shock

CigarsofthePharoahs · 08/10/2018 06:43

Someone must spend a lot of time keeping those chandeliers cobweb free.

OliviaStabler · 08/10/2018 06:45

Beautiful without the terrible décor and furnishings.
