Ideally veggie if possible. DD wont be having dinner with us tomorrow which means we have have all the dairy products. I’m very excited but can’t decide what to cook. I think macaroni cheese might be a bit sickly. What would you have?

I thought you wanted recipes to make cheese, I had a few for you!!
However Here is my favourite curry

Paneer Bunha
250 gms Paneer Cubes (Indian Cottage Cheese) ( actually I put more in)
3 onions chopped
4-5 tomatoes chopped
2-3 curry leaves
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
4-5 green chillies chopped
2 dried red chillies
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
Salt to taste
Fresh cilantro thinly chopped
2 tsp oil
How to make Paneer Bhuna Masala:
Heat oil in a pan, add curry leaves and mustard seeds.
As they start crackling, add the paste of ginger-garlic, chopped green chillies and dried red chillies.
Saute all together for 2 minutes on low heat.
Add chopped onions and cook till onion turns into golden brown color.
Add chopped tomatoes, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
Cook on medium heat till the gravy become thick and oil begin to separate.
Add paneer cubes and cook for 5 more minutes with stirring gently.
Add coriander powder and garam masala powder.
Cook for a minute and garnish with fresh cilantro.
Serve hot with butter naan or roti.

3secondsfromchaos · 07/10/2018 22:11

Make a Homity pie with extra Parmesan for added cheesiness. I love cheese!
Or a quiche with some lovely strong cheddar. Yum!

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/10/2018 22:16

I did Stilton, pear and walnut samosas today (inspired by GBBO last week). They were amazing 😍

CutesyUserName · 07/10/2018 22:32

A whole Camembert wheel in an ovenproof dish. Surround with fresh figs, cut in halves. Drizzle over with Amoretto and bake until the cheese goes soft and figs soften and warm. Serve with breadsticks or hot crusty bread as a starter for people to dip into.

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 07/10/2018 22:35

@Abviator slivers of roasted unicorn?! Do they sell that in Aldi Grin

Jackshouse · 08/10/2018 18:32

Thanks everyone. I have decide to go for macaroni cheese after all with breadcrumbs and walnuts on the top to give it more texture and to serve it with broccoli.

That sounds lovely. Bon appetit!

I've just popped Nigella's triple cheese and onion strata in the oven. Not my favourite cheese recipe, but I had a stale baguette to use up.

Get cheese, give it to DS, then cook something nice for me. Can you tell I’m not a fan?

Thecatisboss · 08/10/2018 18:44

I add sauteed leeks to my macaroni cheese with breadcrumbs on top it's delicious, even DH who said he hated macaroni cheese likes it.

FoodGloriousFud · 08/10/2018 18:46

@WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo Could I have the recipe for the cheese and mushroom lasagne please? Sounds amazing.

Chrisinthemorning · 08/10/2018 18:50

I put cauliflower in my macaroni cheese- like a cross between the 2. It’s very nice, we often have it with sausages.
