I was already awake breastfeeding my son at about 4.30am when the bed moved and some water sloshed out of my glass!
But according to DH I dreamt it...

Did anyone else feel anything?

I was awake at 4.30 in Bristol and I didn’t feel anything.

ABitCrapper · 07/10/2018 07:38

Oh, maybe I did dream it Confused

Felt nothing in South Wales!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/10/2018 07:40

There's nothing listed on the BGS
www.earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/earthquakes/recent_uk_events.html

ABitCrapper · 07/10/2018 07:42

I wonder what it was?! I was awake. Not near any major roads

OP posts:
tsonlyme · 07/10/2018 07:55

Major rail works going on near me but I don’t think that extends to N Somerset.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/10/2018 08:21

Maybe there's a sink hole under your house and the house is sliding in?
(joking, I don't actually think that)

I dreamt last night that there were hailstones the size of space hoppers that smashed through the roof and pulverised the house.

magimedi · 07/10/2018 08:24

Any quarrys near you? They could have been blasting overnight.

Neshoma · 07/10/2018 09:19

Years ago, after we'd just had our extension done, there was an earthquake in the middle of the night.

I was convinced the extension had fallen down.

It was only when everyone came out of their houses we all realised what had happened. It was also only the second time I'd seen the woman across the road in 12 years.

LuckyDiamond · 07/10/2018 09:20

Saw on the news they were starting fracking again...is that anywhere near you?

ABitCrapper · 07/10/2018 09:26

There are quarries near here. No idea about fracking though. Sinkhole? No idea. The house is on the side of a very steep hill but it's very old and stone built so I doubt it is slipping.
I'll ask the neighbor when I see her!

When I was up in the middle of the night breastfeeding I was convinced I saw alien life forms slithering around outside. Sleep deprivation can mess with your mind!

ABitCrapper · 07/10/2018 09:29

Actually yes might be sleep deprivation.

I have been woken up twice by real earthquakes (south Midlands). But the last time I woke up and thought it was an earthquake it was the cat vigorously scratching her ear with her hind leg. Didn’t disturb the glass of water though.

LEMtheoriginal · 07/10/2018 09:31

Fracking!!

Ellapaella · 07/10/2018 14:10

We had an earthquake up in the north east in about 2007/2008. I woke up in the middle of the night to find the walls literally moving, it was the strangest thing I've ever experienced!
The next day I wondered if I'd dreamt it but it was on the news, the epi centre had been in Lincolnshire some 120 miles away.
Have you asked any of your neighbours or nearby friends if they noticed anything op?

Yoksha · 07/10/2018 14:55

Yup. Me. Live in the NW. Twice, about 20 mins apart. After 9 pm. Dh felt it too. Sitting in the loft watching tv and our armchairs shoogled. Quadrilla are cracking not far from us.

carrie74 · 07/10/2018 14:59

Ooh we're near N Somerset and don't notice anything...

carrie74 · 07/10/2018 14:59

Didn't

Gibble1 · 07/10/2018 15:34

I’m in N. Somerset and someone in Kewstoke posted to ask if anyone else had felt their house move last night. Wonder if you might be local to me as I’m also on a steep hill with stone built houses. FWIW, the earth didn’t move for me but I’m suffering the after effects of Brean Down today!

CutesyUserName · 07/10/2018 15:41

I haven't felt the earth move for years. :(

poppy196 · 07/10/2018 16:37
