Where are you meant to hang the damn thing?

In was so very excited to acquire one, but it's not for purpose.

????!

derekthe1adyhamster · 06/10/2018 21:11

Is this the thing from IKEA? I hang it on the washing line or airier if inside

PristineCondition · 06/10/2018 21:12

I love mine, in summer it's hung on the line and it holds a t shirt/shorts per arm, saves loads of line space.
In winter I hang it on the clothes horse or curtain pole

Worieddd · 06/10/2018 21:12

I disagree I have 2!

What do you mean where are you supposed to hang it?

AmabelleOnabike · 06/10/2018 21:12

I have a heated towel rail in a cupboard in which my socktopus hangs. I was just thinking this evening that they are a match made in laundry heaven!

lucysmam · 06/10/2018 21:12

Erm...mine go on the washing line or dangle from the airer if it's not an outside drying day (with socks next to their match, tights all next to each other, and each of our knickers together by person Blush )

Exploring · 06/10/2018 21:14

In summer on a tree, in winter on the clothes horse, if tidying downstairs it goes up to bedroom curtain pole. I want one to be a pantstopus as well 😂

Fiffyshadesofgreymatter · 06/10/2018 21:14

Ha! The socktopus is one of the monsters from the notebook of doom and I came in to agree that yes, it is annoying because the kids keep stealing my socks to try and make one.

I will just take myself away...

goforkyourself · 06/10/2018 21:19

I thought we were on about Croctopus here Grin

Nacreous · 06/10/2018 21:21

My parents put a hook into the utility room ceiling for theirs. I don't have a utility room and it doesn't really fit on the airer.

elQuintoConyo · 06/10/2018 21:21

We have two. They hold hands.

Where the almighty fuck do you think you're supposed to hang it? Off your partner's morning wood?

Are you also stumped by coat hangars? Shower curtains?

museumum · 06/10/2018 21:22

It’s bloody brilliantly. Hang it in the washing line. Is that not obvious???

YouWereRight · 06/10/2018 21:28

I hang mine off my curtain pole during the day. At the back of the house only.

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/10/2018 21:30

My DM bought me 2. I don't even need them.

redsummershoes · 06/10/2018 21:32

on the airer or the washing line

Davros · 06/10/2018 21:32

I would like to find out for myself but, thanks to the power of MN, it's been sold out on my last two visits to Ikea in Wembley

Crunchymum · 06/10/2018 21:49

If I hang it on an airer it is all wonky and lopsided and I can't use every tentacle.

I want to use it in all its glory

Crunchymum · 06/10/2018 21:52

They had loads in the Edmonton store.

I got a red one, they had black and white too.

It's currently on the coat stand. Only place it hangs properly??

Mum2jenny · 06/10/2018 21:54

I have no idea wtf you are talking about. Wtf is a socktopus?

redsummershoes · 06/10/2018 21:55

that's why you need 2 Wink

mine are white glow-in-the-dark

MadMaryBoddington · 06/10/2018 21:56

Love mine. I’m onto the fourth generation now because every once in a while they take it into their little plastic heads to hurl themselves off the washing line and smash their tentacles.

FrangipaniBlue · 06/10/2018 21:58

Slinks off to google soctopus.......

emwithme · 06/10/2018 22:03

Frangipani It's actually called a pressa

Mine gets hung on the washing line if dry outside, or over the shower rail if it's wet.

Kittykatmacbill · 06/10/2018 22:26

I have two and they are brilliant! They hold a whole loads worth of pant and socks between them. they hang off the end of my Sheila Maid sheilamaid.com.

ToadOfSadness · 06/10/2018 22:29

Outdoors on the washing line, indoors on the shower rail, otherwise it is a pain. I have four of them and storing them is the problem. If there was a way to hang them upside down to store or fix the tentacles to the body it would be useful, they take a lot of space when they spread out.
