As the title says..I'm having a really really bad weekend where everything that can go wrong has gone wrong and I'm genuinely just down in the dumps..what happy things do you do to cheer yourself up when your sad?

I don't drink but anything else will be nice.Me and DD have been for a big walk this morning but now we are home and I'm just so emotional.

Thanks

Sorry you are feeling blue today. I’m feeling similar, my mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s this week and I feel really low today and the weather is crap which doesn’t help. I’m just on YouTube atm and listening to some fun, upbeat songs, currently listening to The B52’s, that always cheers me up!!

Afternooninthepark · 06/10/2018 14:27

Meant The B52’s Love Shack!

Ava1988 · 06/10/2018 14:28

Cuddly duvet day with some chocolate? A nice bath? Sorry you're feeling so down :( I find a really good cry sometimes works wonders.

drum123 · 06/10/2018 14:30

Sorry you're feeling bad. I fake smiles when I feel down, until they become real. Usually takes a while, but it does work.

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 06/10/2018 14:31

Ahh OP, sorry to hear you're feeling this way! Flowers and Flowers for you too Afternoon.

Sadly I am no help whatsoever, but I am also having a shitty weekend week, so can sympathise.

Hope you feel more cheery soon.

sarahC40 · 06/10/2018 14:32

Have a hug. I’ve had a shit week and feel close to tears today. Stick on a ridiculous film? Might distract you?

Doyoumind · 06/10/2018 14:34

A good film? Sometimes it's good to watch a funny film but I also find watching a sad film helps me get some of my emotions out properly. I hope things improve for you soon.

Notabee · 06/10/2018 14:42

Sorry you’re feeling sad. Me too.
Usually I’d get out for a short walk, have a bath, watch a film, paint my nails and maybe cook / eat something nice.
Otherwise I love catching up with a friend.
I can do the film so that will be my afternoon unless I can think of something else.
Hope you feel better soon.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 06/10/2018 14:43

Keep occupied, don't mope around, drink or eat crap food it'll only make you feel worse.

I have to deep clean or exercise, plan something nice or do online shopping!

Hope you feel brighter soon Thanks

WhoWants2Know · 06/10/2018 14:48

Make cake, eat cake, watch crap telly snuggled on the sofa under a duvet. Flowers and Cake for you. I hope you feel better soon.

MyBrexitGoesOnHoliday · 06/10/2018 14:57

Find something that makes you laugh, a comedy, a crazy YouTube video or a children film to watch with your dd.

Write what you are grateful about. I know it sounds crazy when everything is going pear shape but it helps remembering what is going well too. Even if it’s having a cuddle on the sofa with your dd and a nice warm house.

Journaling has helped me too and finding a good friend that wouod be happy to often to me (and when there was no friend around to do that, I found a counsellor instead - whatever works!)

MistyReturns · 06/10/2018 15:00

If you need to talk, we can listen.
I'm no stranger to days like these. Sometimes I'll lock myself away in the kitchen and make soups & things out of "odds & ends" rather than bumming them. Then batch freeze - it makes me feel accomplished and Martha Stewart. Other times I'll just stick my jammies on and watch the saddest film I can (Steel Magnolias makes me sob quite reliably) or I'll watch stupid happy films (dirty dancing, Shaun of the dead). Or take the dog for a walk, get home soaking, have a shower and bundle up in warm dry clothes.

nonetcurtains · 06/10/2018 15:01

Talk to us.

I hate autocorrect.

ChippingInLovesWoollyHugs · 06/10/2018 15:07

Masma. Do you want to tell us what’s making you sad? Or do you have friend you could phone...see if they fancy meeting up somewhere the kids can go off and play safely?

Notabee · 06/10/2018 15:09

Are you me?
We can listen if you need to talk. I know it’s not the same as face to face. Unless you have a friend you can call or invite over?

Emus · 06/10/2018 15:09

And episode of Friends usually makes me feel a bit better. Sorry you are feeling sad OP Thanks

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 06/10/2018 15:11

Change your bedlinen.

When it's bedtime, have a long, hot bath or shower and pay special attention to hair, face and teeth cleaning.

Put on fresh night clothes.

Snuggle down knowing you, your clothes and your linen is clean.

redwineandcrisps · 06/10/2018 15:12

Misty that typo has just made me giggle so much!

Op, chat here if you like? I have had a simile time lately, I’ve just whacked the heating on and am sat under a blanket watching crap tv with some ice cream. Sometimes it’s just stopping and acknowledging things are a bit pants that helps!

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 06/10/2018 15:17

If DD enjoys it can you bake together? Even just shortbread?

This always a cheers me up. Best thing in the world, eating raw biscuit dough with DS. Smile

Feel better soon OP Brew
