Always slighly favour sed the Broons - something for everyone with them. Felt sorry for Daphne...

MrsFoxPlus4 · 05/10/2018 18:42

Redglitter · 05/10/2018 18:44

They didn't both come out every year. Didn't they come out alternate years?

foxyknoxy30 · 05/10/2018 18:45

I loved them both. They came out alternate years. My DF always gets one of them for Christmas still.

bertdynamite · 05/10/2018 18:46

The Broons was/is my favourite - more characters and so more variety.

HairyPotter · 05/10/2018 18:50

The Broons! Not a Oor Willie fan at all, dh still gets his annual from his maw (even though he’s 51!) as its not the same if he buys it himself!

Whatififall · 05/10/2018 18:52

I loved both but The Broons was my favourite

Wristy · 05/10/2018 18:59

The Broons!!
I’ve got a copy of Ma Broon’s cookbook too!

safariboot · 05/10/2018 19:01

I had a sort of "best of" book with both of them. Both great strips. Been a long time since I read it though.

Moocoo · 05/10/2018 19:01

The Broons.... loved Granpaw

chrisrobin · 05/10/2018 19:05

The Broons, I loved the ones that revolved around Grandpaw and the Bairn

myusernameisnotmyusername · 05/10/2018 19:31

The Broons.

MinecraftHolmes · 05/10/2018 19:39

Oor Wullie. I only really liked when Grandpaw or the twins got up to nonsense in the Broons.

That said. I quite liked when Daphne brought home a french polisher and Paw thought he was half French, half Polish so put wee flags in all the food.

And when the twins moan about not getting cereal with toys in, Paw puts a pot of porridge into a drawer to make porridge bars without emptying it and breaks his teeth on a toy car.

Oor Wullie was my favourite though.

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2018 19:41

The broons I think. I couldn’t really relate to oor wullie

FrogsSpawnofSanta · 05/10/2018 19:44

Minecraft I remember the porridge in the drawer one, I loved it Smile

I liked Oor Willie best as a child but as I got older I preferred the Broons.

Newjobnewstart · 05/10/2018 19:46

The broons was my fave my mum still gets me one or the other for Christmas and my husband's gran gets him a copy so we have loads. I think they both come out yearly now which I find strange

Vinorosso74 · 05/10/2018 19:47

I loved both! I used to get the annuals too. My grandparents used to get the Sunday Post (they lived in Northumberland rather than Scotland and weren't Scottish so not sure how that came about) and I always used to read it in there too.
I feel all nostalgic now.

Usuallytootiredbuthappyanyway · 05/10/2018 19:49

I liked the broons better. This is making me very nostalgic for my lovely Scottish grandparents!

8DaysAWeek · 05/10/2018 19:54

When I was younger it was Lot Wullie but as I got older I preferred The Broons.

We got annuals that had Our Wullie on the left and The Broons on the right.

8DaysAWeek · 05/10/2018 19:56

Major autocorrect fail all over my post.

MerlinsScarf · 05/10/2018 20:29

The Broons for me, does anyone remember the one where the boys think they're getting a lift in a Rolls Royce tae the fitba? The but an ben ones are some of my favourites too.
