Eggs, how do you like yours?

I won't add "in the morning"! What's your favourite way to cook eggs and do you have a favourite type of egg?

OP posts:
Titsywoo · 03/10/2018 23:41

Poached is my favourite

Stinkbomb · 03/10/2018 23:43

Depends what mood I'm in, but love them poached, soft boiled, scrambled, omelette or in a sandwich - pretty much any way, just not greasy.

tessiegirl · 03/10/2018 23:44

Fried sunny side up
Scrambled with cheese
Boiled with soldiers

Poached, soft boiled, occasionally scrambled and I'll have an omelette sometimes. Hard boiled is nice for sandwiches or a salad.

TeddyIsaHe · 03/10/2018 23:52

Ooh really soft buttery scrambled eggs with granary toast. My favourite breakfast!

moredoll · 03/10/2018 23:53

I don't. I have a horror of eggs that look anything like eggs. I can eat omelettes or fritattas but boiled, poached, or fried are just a no-no. Been like that forever.

newmumwithquestions · 03/10/2018 23:53

Poached (oozy yolk)
Scrambled with smoked salmon for occasional luxury

We have chickens though so the eggs are really fresh. Old eggs just don’t poach the same!

ItWentInMyEye · 03/10/2018 23:55

Poached! I also sometimes fill a small frying pan with water and poach them in there. They look like a fried egg, but with the texture of poached.

FTFF · 03/10/2018 23:55

Fried-yolk has to be burst and cooked through on a white roll with thick butter, my hangover cure.

I'm beginning to enjoy poached eggs too with avocado on toast. Delicious

Xiaoxiong · 03/10/2018 23:56

Dippy with soldiers. Toast soldiers are nice, also with asparagus or purple sprouting broccoli soldiers and some Parmesan!

Thatstheendofmytether · 03/10/2018 23:56

I like fried but take the yolk out and have it on a bacon roll.

Sometimes I love poached, like absolutely love the and then sometimes they give me the boak.

Really love egg mayo. Oh and chopped eggs in a cup with butter and toast.

Like scrambles and omelettes on occasion.

Sometimes in love eggs, sometimes I hate them!

PerspicaciaTick · 03/10/2018 23:57

My absolute favourites are coddled eggs with cheese and herbs.

I also enjoy, scrambled or poached eggs on marmite on toast and fried eggs with ketchup.
And in cakes. And custard. And creme patisserie.

AwdBovril · 03/10/2018 23:58

Poached, if they're done properly with a runny yolk. Otherwise, buttery, only-just-set scrambled eggs, done in a pan, not a microwave. Either way, salt & pepper are essential.

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/10/2018 23:58

Fried, or soft boiled, I also love egg mayo sarnies

EnidButton · 03/10/2018 23:59

Like a fried egg but with the yolk burst and mingled in with the white and then flipped donuts cooked on both sides.

I feel like it has a proper name in America but can't remember what it is.

Grumpbum123 · 03/10/2018 23:59

Poached

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 03/10/2018 23:59

Over easy
After much practice I can usually do it now without breaking the yolk.

EnidButton · 04/10/2018 00:05

Looked my method up and it's a bit like American 'over hard' but with the yolk mingled in. Doesn't seem to have a name. Maybe I invented it myself. Grin

I'll have to go and make one now. On gf ciabatta roll with butter and a bit of tomato sauce.

EnidButton · 04/10/2018 00:05

flipped donuts cooked on both sides.

Confused Flipped over. No doughnuts involved.

FreakForHummous · 04/10/2018 00:16

Made from tofu since going vegan a few months ago.... but if someone where to invent a good vegan equivalent of a sunny side up fried egg, perfectly crisped on the bottom I would be ALL over it!

BackforGood · 04/10/2018 00:17

I almost always have egg for lunch if I'm at home - love all ways - poached, boiled with soldiers, boiled then mashed in a sandwich, scrambled. Like a fried egg with a cooked breakfast or with chips but try not to have too often. I do like an omelette, but am hopeless at them and they often convert to scramble egg part way through Blush

Don't have a 'favourite' - it depends on my mood.

PickAChew · 04/10/2018 00:20

Big, orange yolk, nice and gloopy.

luckycat007 · 04/10/2018 01:43

Scrambled whites
