I know I sound absolutely unreasonable, stick with me here

I'm in an amazing hotel..but I just do not like Playas de las Americas

At Sunprime Ocean View

I've my Kindle. My friend is here with me. I miss DP and DS but that's fine

The nightlife doesn't seem to be up to much. Veronica's Strip wasn't particularly impressive maybe I'm getting old at 28

What can we do? Siam Park is booked for tomorrow. Loro Park on Wednesday

What would you do today? What is Los Cristianos like?

I've spent years holidaying in Marmaris. I think Turkey has ruined Spain for me Sad

This place is just like one street

Dearie me.

If the OP hadn't mentioned a child, I'd have assumed she was about 12. All this "it's shit. No music. Wanna go clubbing and shopping and eat McDonalds with my bestie" sounds like what you'd expect from someone that age.

Wouldn't it have been nice if op had said, "That sounds great thank you! Some fantastic recommendations, I have made some bookings and will get my poor friend out and about, that will take her mind off her break-up!"

An impromptu holiday to Tenerife is not what I'd call a lemon by any means, but why wouldn't you adopt a If Life Gives You Lemons attitude in that sort of situation? (I've never been to Tenerife but I like the sound of it, making notes for next summer...) Instead op acts like a sad loser who is too immature to see the potential in her situation.

Hire an open-top Jeep on the south of the island, and, in lovely sunshine and just swimwear and shorts, drive to the north of the island. The fog and snowstorm you may encounter on the way, ending up in the north where everyone was in a fleece or coat (and rightly looks at you like you have a screw loose), will give you something to dine out on for years to come. :)

Drove up Mount Teide

Last time I was there, you went up in a cable car!!! Fantastic, but deathly quiet at the top, no birdsong or anything, just the wind.

I don't know what you found to do in Marmaris, except watch the young men degrade themselves by 'entertaining' the Women.

That and the spectacle the Women make of themselves.

It's a pure piss up holiday.

Oh you are a highly strung bunch Smile

Very pleased to be back home in cold Belfast and back to work
