Watched this filmthis evening...I think I'd give it about 2/10. Any other MNers seen it? What did you think?

Awful.

Kookey · 30/09/2018 00:35

Shit..! I forced myself to stick with it until halfway, then I found my brain again and hit the off button..!!

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 30/09/2018 00:35

Terrible. Can’t believe it was best picture.

ProfessionallyUnoffended · 30/09/2018 00:36

A fellow hater! The sex scenes, if you can call it that, we're just so yucky!

I know! Best picture, unbelievable!

Oh I really liked it. It was very strange though.

Except the sing and dance part. Mark Kermode said it was like Splash but with the Creature from the Black Lagoon

ProfessionallyUnoffended · 30/09/2018 00:39

Noooo ledehe, how could you!Grin

SPOILER ALERT

ABSOLUTE PILE OF SHITE

Worst film I've seen this year and I saw the one where The Rock scales a High Rise with one leg.

And (Spoiler Alert)

SHE SHAGGED HIM AFTER HE ATE HER NEIGHBOURS CAT

WTF?!

Apart from that fuckery everything in it is massively derivative of other things and it's just an ET type caper where people conspire to hide a creature from authorities

Additionally the Astaire type sequence just lifted you out of the film and was so fucking ridiculous I laughed

ProfessionallyUnoffended · 30/09/2018 00:45

Ha ha pawnee, I enjoyed your review, you could be on tv! Also seen that one with the rock... A great newish film is Finding your feet, anyone seen it?

I was surprised how bored I was by it given it had head such great reviews.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 30/09/2018 07:52

I liked it but then I love those old B movies and it reminded me of them.

Cheesymonster · 30/09/2018 07:56

Utter shit.

serbska · 30/09/2018 08:00

I liked it. Beautifully shot.

I liked the way the monster got the girl.

cheezy · 30/09/2018 08:00

I loved it! I thought it was beautifully made and was quite heartbreaking. Was really moved

Littlebelina · 30/09/2018 10:07

I thought the sex parts were really crude! And I am not a prude normally.

LittleBookofCalm · 30/09/2018 10:15

i loved it, a love story

LittleBookofCalm · 30/09/2018 10:16

the girl was half fish , she had gills and a penchant for boiled eggs, and water.
they were destined to be together.

Zazu44 · 30/09/2018 10:20

Absolutely loved it. One of my fav all time films.

Eponymous · 30/09/2018 10:23

Oh thank goodness. I thought it was just me.
I turned it off after twenty minutes. Utter drivel. And I normally love anything a bit weird.
Didn't even get to any sex bits.

Havaina · 30/09/2018 10:26

I really liked it. I think you need a higher consciousness to get. Wink

stellabird · 30/09/2018 10:29

I loved it - it reminded me of those old movies where you know they are going to end up together.

funmummy48 · 30/09/2018 10:35

I wasn't sure what to think to be honest. I was pleased that I'd seen it but didn't feel that I could recommend it to anyone else. My husband & I spent most of the film with our jaws dropped. I quite enjoyed bits of it as it had a fairy tale quality about it. I'm not sure I'd watch it again though. On the plus side, it was 100% better than the drivel that was La Is Land.

Pieceofpurplesky · 30/09/2018 10:49

I loved it but then I am a fairy tale freak - I love reading the original tales and any quirky versions.
