Does anyone else hate this song?

Or if not what song do you hate for no reason

It goes :

"I've been so many places in my life and time"

And I think it's called A Song For You

It's really popular it seems on talent show auditions and I can't for the life of me think why, I think it's proper rubbish.

I also hate And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going for the same reason

A mystifyingly popular song

Anyone else?

But girls just wanna have fun, while not being a favourite, was the song my daughter was born to. Should have requested a different surgeon who didn't want to listen to heart FM...

Every time I'm in a clothes shop and hear a song which makes me think 'What's this shite?' - it's a Ed Sheeran song. He really is dreadful.

RottenApple · 01/10/2018 09:34

The first time ever I saw your face - HATE HATE HATE! Dreary and the words are in the wrong order.

Yes to Sam Smith. Awful whining.

I have no opinion on Ed Sheeran but I've never met anyone who says they like him so I do wonder where all these people are who keep getting him to number 1 🤔

DolorestheNewt · 01/10/2018 09:39

Fucking hate Imagine. Dirge.
Hotel California.
And Bohemian Rhapsody.

All just awful songs that should be disinvented and our memories should be wiped. Imagine first.

mrswhiplington · 01/10/2018 10:04

Ed Sheeran - Castle on the Hill, no tune, dreadful lyrics. "I fell and broke my leg running away from my brother's friends. One friend died of an overdose, one just got divorced" blah blah.

BuggeringNora · 01/10/2018 10:22

Anything by Jess Glynn - she sounds like she needs to get her adenoids removed. Ditto Ronan 'nasal' Keating.

Oh and , it wasn't the wonderful Luther Vandross on that terrible Eternal song, it was BeBe Winans.

Effendi · 01/10/2018 11:20

Rolling in the Deep is a fabulous tune from Adele and imo the only one.
The rest are just so dirgy and sad. Hello anyone?

MorningsEleven · 01/10/2018 11:57

I've just listened to some Ed Sheeran - he'd passed me by. What a load of creepy shite!

FuckKnuckle · 01/10/2018 14:12

Just remembered another one - I hated it when it came out, and I still have to turn the radio off if I hear it now. It's that one about a woman who is "just like you but she's homeless", and who sings for money - la da di, da-aa, la da di, da-aa...

Also anything by Madonna. Urgh.

Snowdrifthill · 01/10/2018 15:48

Rockefeller skank ( funk soul brother ) by Fat Boy Slim. I can't be the only one. It's an unholy racket.

CiderBrains · 01/10/2018 16:17

In Ed Sheeran's song he talks about being "thrifty " with the all can eat then goes on to talk about them getting a cab home.. Confused

3TresTrois · 01/10/2018 16:21

Perfect Day but Lou Reed
Lovely Day by bill withers

(‘Nice day’ theme going on 😆)

Both make me cringe.

3TresTrois · 01/10/2018 16:22

And agree with anything by Jess Glynne with her murderous vocals, drippy Ed Sheeran (especially Evergreen) and Sam Smith.

3TresTrois · 01/10/2018 16:25

Oh and how could I forget? Dancing in the fucking moonlight

CiderBrains · 01/10/2018 16:28

I absolutely loathe that song "do you think I'm pretty, do I make you feel like cheating," "all these other girls are tempting.."

Argggggg

WhenIWasAYoungWarthog · 01/10/2018 16:33

I think that’s a grim one too cider. There’s also the line of ‘my mama loves you too, she thinks I made the right selection.’ What a fucking prick.

Eenymeeny123 · 01/10/2018 16:41

Dance with my father by Luther Vandross, it makes my blood boil, it's just too cringy listening to a male singer speak about his father like that. Actually it's just cringy no matter what

DontCallMeCharlotte · 01/10/2018 16:44

I love Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader. Hangs head in shame...

My smash-the-off-button song was Ride on Time by Black Box. It used to make me very very angry indeed. Horrible noise.

(And I can't bear anything by Neil Diamond because of his voice.)

Eenymeeny123 · 01/10/2018 16:47

Oh and the song 'more then words to make me feel, that your love for me is real'. Even as a teenager when the song was first out i always felt he was pushing her to have sex with him.

goingonabearhunt1 · 01/10/2018 17:09

I don't understand how Ed Sheeran is doing so well, I've never met anyone who likes him. Someone must be buying his records though Grin

Rafflesway · 01/10/2018 17:11

X factor faves:

I'm every woman
Natural woman
This is a man's world
AngryAngryAngry

Toploader - Dancing in the Moon!ight. and Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody AngryAngry

However, I do love Jess Glynne and Ed especially Castle on the HillGrin

SinisterBumFacedCat · 01/10/2018 18:52

Another xFaxtor favourite is "I didn't know my own strength". Oh my god that fucks me off!

ALongHardWinter · 01/10/2018 19:37

Anything with whistling in (the single exception being 'You're tender and you're tired by The Manic Street Preachers) and anything with talking in the middle of it! Yes,Johnny Mathis,I'm looking at you.

RottenApple · 01/10/2018 22:23

I've no idea who it's by or what it's actually called but that one that repeats "a little bird house in your soul"

The bloke has a really nasally voice and it's such an irritating song.

And it's an ear worm which makes it worse.

Also, anything by the Beautiful South.

FrankieStein · 01/10/2018 22:42

James blunts you're beautiful. It's about a junkie stalking a girl and her boyfriend around the tube when he's drugged up.
How people can play that at their weddings I'll never know.

I'm another one who can't stand imagine. Although I quite like most Beatles stuff.

Love Queen, but bohemian rhapsody is massively overhyped. Can't stand the bloody bicycle song though.

Edit Sheeran should be shot.

Adele needs decent songwriters.

Agree with 85% of what's written up there

But love Bryan Adams...
