What's your favourite ever chocolate bar

My favourite is a Kit Kat chunky! I love to eat one while having a cuppa and I always bite the chunky chocolate off first all the way around and then eat the wafer! Does anyone else eat it like this?!!

My favourite ever was a mars delight but they don't do them anymore. Sad

ChilliJamandAvocado · 23/09/2018 16:35

Aldi cherry & chilli choc mousse bars

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 23/09/2018 16:36

I have a few that I like but I don't eat a bar of chocolate very often - wrong side of 40 and weight sticks sadly

I like: starbars, frys turkish delight, frys chocolate cream, malteasers, revels

@HerRoyalFattyness I don't recall trying that one but I forgot to mention my second favourite which is no longer made is the original Timeout bar with the twirl bit in the middle! I really miss that one!

Frys orange cream but they are so hard to find!

Towerofjoyless · 23/09/2018 16:37

Starbar, although I didn't discover them until a couple of years ago.

BIWI · 23/09/2018 16:37

Oooh! I worked on the development of Time Out! I really don't understand why they've changed it as it was so much better with the Flake down the middle.

Grumpbum123 · 23/09/2018 16:39

M&S mint truffle bar

Foslady · 23/09/2018 16:43

There used to be a bar in the 80’s that the chunks were small octagons (moments?) that could be milk or plain chocolate with a mousse in the middle - the dark chocolate ones in the red wrapper was heavenly!

Butterfly98 · 23/09/2018 16:43

Has anyone tried the Lindt orange bar? Is it new as I didn't know it existed til today, anyway all I can say is it's yum and a strong competitor to Terry's orange 🍊

DorasBob · 23/09/2018 16:44

Grumpbum - oh my god those mint truffle bars 🤤

I would say, a pre-palm oil era wispa or aero

Butterfly98 · 23/09/2018 16:47

@DorasBob why is palm oil added to so many things these days especially chocolate? I guess it's some sort of preservative.... Cadbury's chocolate just isn't the same anymore

OP posts:
Magmatic80 · 23/09/2018 16:52

Wispa. Best day of my life when they brought them back. Not the gold ones though.

DorasBob · 23/09/2018 16:52

It’s because it’s cheap. It’s a way of replacing high quality expensive ingredients (that make chocolate taste nice) with something that can make a sellable (but disgusting) chocolate bar and increase the profit margin.

I used to buy Cadbury’s by the truckload, now I never buy it. I buy more expensive chocolate, like m&s, hotel chocolat etc but buy less.

If you are reading this Cadbury’s market researchers - shame on you! Change it back for God’s sake

CaptainCorrigan · 23/09/2018 16:52

Wispa gold!!!

buddhasbelly · 23/09/2018 16:54

BIWI whatever your job is, if it involves developing chocolate, it sounds AMAZING

SneakyGremlins · 23/09/2018 16:55

I'm having wispa gold hot chocolate right now.
I miss Cadbury Dream Sad

MargotMoon · 23/09/2018 16:56

Yy to Aldi cherry choc and chilli. Discovered thanks to a previous MN thread Smile

Old favourite was Cadbury's Spira which they discontinued.

Love most of the Ritter Sport range although they too have started using palm oil sadly.

Cauliflowersqueeze · 23/09/2018 16:56

Lindt milk chocolate red bars.

Dime bars.

Twirl.

OnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 23/09/2018 16:57

HerRoyalFattyness, i miss Mars Delight too!
Other than that I'd say a Boost but they're not as good as they used to be.

ThePortlyPinUp · 23/09/2018 17:01

Does anyone else remember Mars Dark and Light? They were my favourite, I also miss Cadbury dream bars.

SelinaMyers · 23/09/2018 17:01

I agree with Mag. I remember that day so clearly because it was such an amazing day. Kind of wishes they were still limited edition because it was such a magical time!

DwangelaForever · 23/09/2018 17:04

All of my favourites ever have been discontinued, it's hard to choose between:

Willy wonka popping candy bar
Wispa bite
Dairy milk with biscuit

DwangelaForever · 23/09/2018 17:05

And of course old time outs before they changed them into wagers
