Boobs hurting, I think I see a line. Dh had the snip.

My breasts have been really sore for about a week now. My cycles are regulari(ish) 28-31 days. I'm on day 32. Had a massive tantrum about nothing this morning. Thought I'd go for a rummage in the cupboard for an old test and just double check even though dh was acting like I 'd lost my mind. Test expired in 2016! Google says false negatives a risk with expired tests but positives less so.

Dh couldn't see it but he has literally only ever seen the line in the first week once in 5 pregnancies. Popped out and bought a cheapy in the afternoon and it was a very obvious negative but I'm still concerned and still not menstruating.

Thoughts? Can you see it? It's a shit picture and I can only barely see it on the photo but I know people are experts here at the POAS squint.

Dh had a vasectomy because we really don't want any more children.

I can see something but is it an evaporation line?

ThisMustBeMyDream · 22/09/2018 15:46

Get a first response. Expensive but worth it.

Fraula · 22/09/2018 15:46

I can see it too. I'd test again in the morning. Hope you're not feeling too panicky.

I can see a line....It looks like mine first did when I tested but then the poster one did say pregnant...

HumpHumpWhale · 22/09/2018 15:47

I see it. Sorry.

alwaysthepessimist · 22/09/2018 15:47

Posher not poster..bloody autocorrect

scaevola · 22/09/2018 15:48

Evaporation lines are usually greyish. Can you see any colour in it?

Yes, vasectomies can spontaneously reverse but it's rare. F you want to check, places like Marie Stopes wil, do one-off testing to see if he's still clear.

LineTroubles · 22/09/2018 15:48

I swear the man has line blindness. Tbf he was never forced to look at the 10,000 negative pee sticks I looked at while trying.

LineTroubles · 22/09/2018 15:49

It's pink. I didn't realise vap lines were grey.

LBOCS2 · 22/09/2018 15:49

Yeah. I can see a line too, I think.

Good luck OP. I hope it turns out to be the outcome you want.

Thank you, do you happen to know if they're free? Even if this turns out to be a chemical (please hope) I guess he needs to be checked.

When was he sterilised??

LineTroubles · 22/09/2018 15:53

2 years ago? Something like that. We aren't in the risky months just after it.

OP posts:
scaevola · 22/09/2018 15:54

No, not free. I've just googled and it's £40 at Marie Stopes (£30 if they did the vasectomy)

keepingbees · 22/09/2018 15:56

That looks quite positive to me, but hope it ends up the result you want! Vasectomies can fail, but fingers crossed.

LineTroubles · 22/09/2018 15:59

Thank you Scaveola . £40 is worth it.

Can you pop and get a first response test?

Thegirlinthefireplace · 22/09/2018 16:32

I was already to come I with tales of how I was constantly paranoid about pregnant just after my husbands snip but that test does look faintly positive to me. Hope things work out for the best. Good luck

LineTroubles · 22/09/2018 16:33

Dh is out at the moment and I've asked him to grab a test. I'll take it first thing in the am

It's been one of those years where a shock unwanted pregnancy seems almost to be expected.

MrsMozart · 22/09/2018 16:37

Oh. I didn't at first but now I can definitely see a line on each picture.

Fingers crossed it works out for you lass.

rosieposey · 22/09/2018 16:39

If that's an internet cheapy I wouldn't trust it. I've had false negatives from them more than once. Get a first response, that will tell you everything you need to know. I hope you get the outcome you want.

Sidge · 22/09/2018 16:40

You can’t rely on any result from a test 2 years after its expiry date, positive or negative.

Conception after vasectomy (assuming he had 2 negative semen results) is rare but potentially possible.

If the in date new test is positive then you’ll know for sure, but until then don’t panic.

StillMedusa · 22/09/2018 17:08

Fingers crossed it's just a dodgy test.
However a friend of mine had a 4th VERY unexpected baby 4 years after her DH had the snip. His tubes had indeed reconnected! But it really is rare for that to happen!

LineTroubles · 22/09/2018 20:11

First response was negative so I'm going to try again tomorrow. Dh got three!
