This weather's a bit lively... anyone else?

Wales here. I'm starting to panic a bit. We're inside but with a flat roof and lots of Windows. So windy and rainy it's like being in a carwash or something... I'm pacing around trying to ward off a full blown panic attack.

Wales here too, dreading the school run in the morning if it's still like this! Luckily I got my garden furniture in earlier!

WutheringFrights · 20/09/2018 23:12

Ah.... as my lovely DH always says don’t bother panicking it doesn’t achieve anything!
So tonight I am not panicking, I’m not panicking about the 12ft wide paddling pool in our garden that we emptied at the weekend, I’m not panicking about the shed roof flying off into our neighbours garden and I’m absolutely not panicking about the new office that DH has built me at work which currently has no roof or doors.
I have had rum and cbd oil to calm me down - it really is very windy!!!!!

Heratnumber7 · 20/09/2018 23:13

N Wilts here. It's hammering it down outside, and blowing a gale.

Babdoc · 20/09/2018 23:14

Bad yesterday up here in Scotland. My 30 foot willow tree came crashing down in a 102mph gust of wind. Took out my neighbour’s fence and wrecked my entire back garden.
My tree surgeon couldn’t come straight away - because one of his own trees had just fallen onto the main railway line and blocked it!

LanguidLobster · 20/09/2018 23:15

Yeah it's pretty bad here - I guess it made me panic a bit a couple of days ago but I'm getting used to it now.

Have a nice cup of tea or put some music on! I genuinely think all the electricity in the air and the noise can be unsettling

BabySharkAteMyHamster · 20/09/2018 23:15

South Cumbria here. A few houses have lost their roof........there was loft insulation everywhere yesterday when I was walking home !!

bitheby · 20/09/2018 23:16

Wales here too. Aquaplaned most of the drive home from South to Mid. River will probably be full to bursting by morning.

megletthesecond · 20/09/2018 23:16

It's not good down in Hampshire either.
I expect a few trees will be down.

tigercub50 · 20/09/2018 23:17

Very wet here in Cornwall but not as windy as it has been.

DinosaurPoop · 20/09/2018 23:17

West Mids here, blowing an absolute gale here, woke DS up and he couldn't get back to sleep for like 2 hours 🙄 he's finally gone and now I can't sleep 😑

prettygreywalls · 20/09/2018 23:18

Not too bad here yet just a bit gusty , south east

This weather's a bit lively... anyone else?
brizzledrizzle · 20/09/2018 23:18

Horrible here, we moved house today and have lots of unfamiliar noises in the garden.

mumofboysx3 · 20/09/2018 23:18

Hi, Worcestershire here. It's blowing a gale and bloody pissing down here. I'm trying not to panic about my dh being out at work in this - fixing faults on the electricity poles, hopefully from the ground but probably from hanging off the poles like a dripping wet monkey Confused

AdoraBell · 20/09/2018 23:19

SW, rather blustery here. DH is concerned, dogs are Hmm but DD2 is enjoying hearing the rustling of the trees. Me too actually.

notenoughbottletonight · 20/09/2018 23:19

Wales here too, it's awful - really windy and has been chucking it down for most of the evening!

student26 · 20/09/2018 23:20

Was very wet and windy in Scotland yesterday. Our school wasn’t allowed to let any kids leave without their parents (even those in P7) and the staff were told they couldn’t leave either for safety. When we eventually left the weather had definitely calmed down quite considerably but there were a fair few police about diverting people.

YolandiFuckinVisser · 20/09/2018 23:20

North Wilts, v lively here! Our roof is being repaired, there are bits of wood and flaps of felt having a party up there. My bedroom is in the loft, it is extremely noisy and bangy. The dogs think it's bonfire night or something, lots of creeping about and cringing going on.

PickAChew · 20/09/2018 23:22

In the NE. Took a walk into town and had to step over a lot of bits of tree, this morning, after Ali's efforts, yesterday. Now listening to the rain hammering against the windows. Live in a dormer bungalow so it's definitely going to be loud, upstairs, tonight.

Given that we've another 8 hours of this, I'm expecting that DS1 won't make it to school, tomorrow.

HemanOrSheRa · 20/09/2018 23:22

It's stormy in Bristol. Absolutely pissing down with rain and very windy. The Dog is sulking - she won't go out for her last troop round the garden in this weather Grin.

fieryginger · 20/09/2018 23:22

I love weather like this, storms in general.

brizzledrizzle · 20/09/2018 23:24

Herman I don't blame the dog, it's vile out there. We didn't have a pond in our garden this afternoon but we'll have a swimming pool at this rate,

SneakyGremlins · 20/09/2018 23:24

Near Stockport - not much wind but very rainy!

TryItAndDieFatLass · 20/09/2018 23:26

South Wales, been belting down all day, just driven home along the M4 and its awful. Roads are starting to flood. I have to take DS to move into Uni tomorrow in Aberystwyth, not looking forward to the drive unless things clear up PDQ

LanguidLobster · 20/09/2018 23:27

Oh I wondered where you lived sneaks - I thought maybe Scotland as you liked the Scottish emoji so much!!

I'm on south coast and yes, we're getting whipped

ShirleyPhallus · 20/09/2018 23:29

I’m going camping with a group of friends to the new forest this weekend

Wish me luck!!
