Hair ‘down there’ help please!

Going to have sex with a new guy this weekend (hopefully!). First time in a very long time. Crazy nervous and over thinking everything.

What’s the norm with regards to pubic hair? All off? Landing strip? Is there a new style??

Help please!

BIWI · 14/09/2018 22:20

You do whatever feels right for you. Don't be fooled into thinking you have to follow what someone else does.

And if your new guy is really interested in you, he won't take any notice.

Don't over-think it, and enjoy yourself!

salopek · 14/09/2018 22:21

I'm in the "all off" camp. But do what you want and what makes you feel comfortable and sexy!

dementedpixie · 14/09/2018 22:21

I trim mine rather than removing it all. It's what I've always done

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2018 22:22

What BIWI said.

SpoonBlender · 14/09/2018 22:26

Nice trim and lose the spiderlegs :) Anything more than that as you prefer, and all off is going out of fashion (thank fuck)

Nesssie · 14/09/2018 22:34

Thanks for your quick responses! I don’t know what feels right as it’s been so long. Never use to bother much as I was with the same man for quite a while so it didn’t matter.

But I really like this guy Blush and so want to make a good impression.
Just wondered what the norm was for first times.

OP posts:
ChanklyBore · 14/09/2018 22:35

The norm is what you have now.

Your norm.

Stay with that.

Do you think he is panicking about the style and length of his pubic hair right now?

Catfacecats · 14/09/2018 22:37

If you like it, leave it. If you prefer nothing, wax it. Want it neater, trim it :)

Sarahlou63 · 14/09/2018 22:41

FFS. Has society really come to this? Not having a pop at you OP but please think about what you want from this encounter, NOT the styling of your pubic hair.

Icklepup · 14/09/2018 22:41

I'd say trim

Nesssie · 14/09/2018 22:47

Sarahlou63 I just want to have sex with him and not be worried about my public hair! I just thought I would ask what the majority of women do for the first time.

Leaving it as it is is not an option, just wondered if ‘all off’ is still the done thing or just a trim or tidy (results so far are reassuring!)

Do you think he is panicking about the style and length of his pubic hair right now? Grin

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 14/09/2018 22:48

I've never removed all of mine and don't intend to. Don't fancy the itchy stubble or ingrowing hairs

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2018 22:48

I think the 'done thing' is whatever you want.

Never have I read so much about this than since I joined MN.

gamerchick · 14/09/2018 22:51

Well for me personally it's trim and tidy with the arse crack all off.

Any man who cares beyond that watches too much porn and can bugger off. Most of them dont give a shit.

What do you feel comfortable with because you're the one who will have to maintain it. Dont go for something that will be a ballache.

JustlikeDevon · 14/09/2018 22:54

If you do a full on removal and he happens to mention he likes it, you'll be immacing your arse crack for the foreseeable. If you normally go full on 70s, don't touch it. If he objects to flossing, trim for round 2. If he cheers at the sight of it, marry him.

MajesticWhine · 14/09/2018 23:03

Can I just ask people who remove theirs. How do you get rid of the arse hair? Like what method? Asking for a friend.

MajesticWhine · 14/09/2018 23:06

OP if I was in your position I would do a trim and a shave round the sides and leave it at that. But I haven't dated someone new for 1000 years.

NorthEndGal · 14/09/2018 23:07

I asked my dh what he prefers.
He said a warm welcome is all that truly matters.

Babdoc · 14/09/2018 23:12

If he is such a total arse that he would reject you for the state of your pubic hair, you are better off without him!
I find it beyond hilarious that there could be “fashions” in women’s pubic hair. After nearly six decades of modern feminism, is this really what women are worrying about?!

Pippioddstocking · 14/09/2018 23:13

I had this exact scenario a few weeks ago , I went all off and actually have rather liked the free feeling it gives so am planning to stay that way .
I waxed ( take pain killers and Gin if it's your first Hollywood!) was close the pain of childbirth !!

CarpeVitam · 14/09/2018 23:16

What Babdoc said.....

Couldn't have put it better.,,,

itchybumhole · 14/09/2018 23:21

My user name is so appropriate here. Grin
I remove all my hair... fanjo and arse crack. Not only does it look better, it smells better (pubic hair absorbs and holds the smell of sweat) but also increases sensitivity if you don't have the barrier of a big bush in the way.
I've been hair free down there for about 15 years and would never go back. It's more modern to trim at least, or remove altogether.

Everyone clutching their pearls about this... do you shave your armpits?

Passthecake30 · 14/09/2018 23:24

The problem with shaving the sides and trimming is that if you trim too much it can feel stubbly, I was a bit over zealous before my hols and dp objected.

If it were me, I've been with my dp for 1000 years also... but I would go and get a neat triangle waxed.

plumcat · 14/09/2018 23:29

@MajesticWhine Grin

PoesyCherish · 14/09/2018 23:30

Whatever feels right for you. I've done all off, trimmed and full pubic hair over the years. I honestly can't remember what I had when I first met DP but I don't think it occurred to me to even be bothered.

Would you be bothered if he has hair?
