I am bloody brilliant with Excel, which luckily for me is used every single day in my job.

I'm also a pretty good cook, especially when making dinners out of almost nothing (when there are only scraps left in the fridge)

LongSummerDays · 15/09/2018 09:37

I always know where something is - I take in a lot of detail without trying or being nosey. I think this is because as a child I was always told to be quiet and not speak if we visited anyone and so I just observed my surroundings.

If asked where something is I can just close my eyes and "see" it. (Doesn't mean I always tell the asker, especially if it's in plain sight!, I've no wish to be the house seer)

Bluesheep8 · 15/09/2018 11:39

I'm good at listening and I'm good at interior design. Oh and I'm good at making scrambled eggs apparently.

DollyWilde · 15/09/2018 11:43

I’m funny, and really good at remembering stuff, so I have excellent trivia knowledge. You want me on your pub quiz team Grin I’m also quite imaginative.

stegosauruslady · 15/09/2018 11:43

Lovely thread!

I'm a really good friend. My friends feel comfortable confiding in me and I'm super trustworthy so know an awful lot of people's secrets.

I'm brilliant with teenagers. Used to work with them, didn't realise how transferable the skill would be, but DD1's friends think I'm ace.

I'm observant and have a great memory.

look how I resisted lowering the tone of the thread though!

ICantBelieveIDidThis · 15/09/2018 11:51

I learn very quickly, so pick up new jobs and procedures very quickly. Very handy for new hobbies.

Remember random terminology which makes Googling things a little easier.

I am good at singing

Fabulous at cross stitch

Very good at understanding IKEA diagrams.

42andcounting · 15/09/2018 11:53

I'm really good at reading things aloud, especially kids books. I do voices and characters, and have been known to make up tunes for some of them Grin

Elflocks · 20/09/2018 21:17

Such a lovely thread. I think I am good at guiding my younger siblings through their teenage years.

delphguelph · 20/09/2018 21:19

Good at flirting
good at taking a load of random fridge ingredients and making something edible
good at not spending money

margaritasbythesea · 20/09/2018 21:26

I can twitch my nose like a rabbit. I don't know anyone else who can do it.

I do it so well that I have convinced my children that I am the Easter Bunny. Though they are really quite old now, they can't disbelieve me cos I'm so good.

Notfootball · 20/09/2018 21:31

I’m good at dancing, always wanted to dance for a living but my parents were all about academia. I love dancing and I dance brilliantly.

BBTHREE76 · 20/09/2018 21:32

Just like Fenellamaxwellspony I am also amazing at “doing Xmas” and my family all think I am the Xmas fairy 👍🏻
My other (prob only other 🙀) best skill is that I am fab at laundry. Love sorting, doing, stain removal. None of it phases me and I haven’t yet come across a stain or an item to defeat me.

Both odd things to be proud of but you did ask OP 🤣🤣🤣

Faster · 20/09/2018 21:33

I have a fantastic memory, but only for certain things.

My lasagne make my whole family smile.

DrowningInTheSeaOfLove · 20/09/2018 21:45

I can put the oven on at exactly the temperature i need without referring to the instructions, I just whack it on, pop back and Yep, 180, that's what I wanted. Only realised this about 6 months ago. Skills

sma1978 · 20/09/2018 21:45

I seem to be really good at pretending I know I know how to do my job, and it works people seem to think I know everything.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 20/09/2018 21:51

Love this thread. What a bunch of stars you are!

I'm really good at crossword puzzles and Excel. I'm good at seeing problems and just as quickly seeing a way to solve them (not puzzles, real life work problems) - doesn't work so well in my real life. Funny that, family tell me I am not the boss of them :)

Not so good at cooking. DM says I cooked the worst meal she ever -put in the garbage disposal after one bite ate.

RoseyOldCrow · 20/09/2018 22:15

Good at making preserves (pickles, jams etc) cakes & biscuits.
(Thinking of joining the WI!)

TheClientList · 20/09/2018 22:30

Elflocks · 20/09/2018 22:36

Thanks, AChickenCalledKorma Smile

JynxaSmoochum · 20/09/2018 22:42

Dealing with the random and chaotic. Routine and mundane are my battlefields.

Meeting a deadline in the nick of time. I need deadlines.

Being young and approachable to children/teenagers, but being the adult to them too

Mastering things in the end long after people would have given up. Swimming 16. Riding a bike 19. Running 32. I could do a triathlon Grin

Procrastinating, I'd be a champion if I got round to entering a procastination competition.

Remembering random information, preferably from years ago.

WhichEndIsUp · 20/09/2018 22:45

I’m a student midwife, and it turns out I’m really quite good at it...I get very pleasing grades on my placement because I can connect with a woman quickly, help her feel at ease and place her right at the centre of the care and decision making. I can’t explain how proud I am that I get to make this my career.

(And it’s damn hard to actually say that - I feel like I sound so big headed!)

Oh, and I’m decent at crochet, too.

Harrykanesrightsock · 20/09/2018 22:46

Reverse parking. Honestly I amaze people with the small spaces I can squeeze a car into. I also can solve layout problems. I think I must have good spacial awareness but missed my vocation as an architect.
