I’m good at making my kids laugh.

Doesn’t pay the mortgage admittedly but makes for some happy times Grin

I'm getting quite good at crochetGrin

Howtodeal · 15/09/2018 06:58

I'm very good at bargain hunting, hardly ever pay full price for anything. I can make banana cake with my eyes closed, I'm good at Excel and an excellent speller.

PourMeAnotherOne · 15/09/2018 07:10

I am good at worrying myself sick, overthinking absolutely everything, putting myself down, picking men who don't give a shit about me, making a twat out of myself whilst drunk and hating people Grin

bluechameleon · 15/09/2018 07:16

I'm a pretty good cook. Not Masterchef-good, but I can cook tasty and interesting meals for my family every day.

Fernicktylo · 15/09/2018 07:25

I am very good at remembering names and who people are.
I am an expert at being on time.
and sadly that's about it.

Groomer · 15/09/2018 07:27

I can untie any knot in any thing!

sashh · 15/09/2018 07:32

I am good at problem solving, I'm sometimes the one saying "why don't you do this ..." and wondering why it's obvious to me and a revelation to others.

OMG that's me to. It started when I was very little, age 5 I was watching a neighbour lay a hall carpet and suggested if he opened the door and went outside it would be easier to fit. It was

I can also tell when things are cooked. I put a timer on the oven and think, "oh I winder if that's cooked" walk in tot he kitchen and the timer has 3 seconds to go. I did it with toast the other day and freaked out a friend, I stood up to go in the kitchen as the toast popped.

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 15/09/2018 07:33

I'm good at photography, I'd love to be a wedding photographer however I'm not good at having self confidence and my anxiety cripples me when I meet new people.

Chosenbyyou · 15/09/2018 07:34

This is a really good thread!

I’m good at doing things quickly! Literally run around my house doing chores quickly. Once done I can do other stuff - no faffing just get stuff done, same in shops ha ha!

AuntieStella · 15/09/2018 07:37

Running - from being a non runner who wasn't interested and thought could never do it a couple of years ago, via C25K to regular runner, including events up to half marathon. I'm not that fast, but I'm a heck of a lot stronger than I was, and fellow runners are lovely, and actually rather proud of myself. I've come a long way, and I don't just mean my mileage.

(off to Parkrun in an hour)

RJnomore1 · 15/09/2018 07:41

Sleeping. It's a thing of wonder to dh how I can fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Clear conscience I say.

wineusuallyhelps · 15/09/2018 07:42

@GreenRut snap!!

I'm also the queen of the paper aeroplane Grin

LemonRedwood · 15/09/2018 07:45

I'm a pretty good baker and patissier. Unfortunately I'm also pretty good at dropping stuff when I try to transport it anywhere Grin

Frouby · 15/09/2018 07:46

I am pretty good with animals. Most seem to like me. My own menagerie adore me.

I am a decent home cook. I can follow recipes and improvise too.

I am good at gardening and growing veg.

I am rubbish at lots of things though. Particularly dieting. Sigh.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/09/2018 07:46

I’m a very good whistler.

PackingSoap · 15/09/2018 07:47

I'm very good at seeing systems and processes. I can also take very complicated ideas and massively condense them into easy to understand points.

Snoopychildminder · 15/09/2018 07:48

auntiestella amazing!!! I adore running and I was going to say that also. I have been shocked at my own improvement. I couldn’t run for a bus and now I run 13.1 miles!

Annandale · 15/09/2018 07:50

My fruit pies are the dog's bollocks. Not in looks but they taste like heaven.

MagicKeysToAsda · 15/09/2018 07:50

My late husband used to say in awe and wonder that I was "good at sandwiches" bless his sweet heart, I have no idea why he thought that was a matter to admire Grin

I think I'm good at listening, asking the right questions to help people see a new path, and being there for my friends. I am also in-bloody-fallible at gorgeous sticky chocolate brownies but shit at sponge cakes. I have brilliant verbal recall: if someone says it aloud, I remember it. This is not always a trait that endears me to others!

wouldHAVEshouldHAVEcouldHAVE · 15/09/2018 07:51

I can sing along to almost any song that comes on the radio, DC ask me ‘how do you know the words to this?’ And I just do, I’m really good at remembering the words.

And car number plates. I can go into Tesco and be like ‘there’s Bill’s car from number 73 over there’ If a friend has to put in their registration plate for a car park, I’ll know it and they’d have to go back and check.
This is skill is also useful when I see someone’s car parked on a retail park etc when I’m out and I don’t want to bump in to them so I leg it sharpish in-laws

FusionChefGeoff · 15/09/2018 07:58

Who runs the world?!!

We do!!!

What a brilliantly uplifting thread to set me up for the day,

I can read people very quickly and know what makes them tick and what fears / insecurities they likely have.

I'm also the boss at fixing things (toys, household etc) and getting pretty good at cakes.

AnnabelleLecter · 15/09/2018 08:06

Writing lists
Making up new words
Talking

BillywigSting · 15/09/2018 08:26

I make really excellent soufflés.

Which incidentally does pay the bills Grin (I'm a chef)

Shockers · 15/09/2018 08:36

I’m good at working out what drives a behaviour.

It comes in very useful in my job at an EBD school.

I’m also good at getting animals to like me.

And sleeping- I’m an expert sleeper Grin.

Kim82 · 15/09/2018 08:45

I’m good at keeping the house clean and tidy using minimal effort and time despite working, 4 dc and a dh who doesn’t do much housework-wise.

I am very good at touch typing and can type over 100 words a minute (once did a type test and it said 120 words per minute but I can’t do it quite that fast any more).

I am good at reading people and my first impression of someone hasn’t been wrong yet.
