Trying to find somewhere nice for a few nights away for wedding anniversary. Currently based in London willing to travel a few hours. Must have swimming pool and spa treatments and preferably some peace and quiet.

Gleneagles is pretty good. Expensive though... you can get a train straight from London to the train station next to the hotel.

Ragdale Hall
Hoar Cross Hall

Four Seasons Hampshire or Chewton Glen

The Woodland Spa in Lancashire is amazing. I've only ever been for the day, but they do have rooms/apartments for spa breaks too. Really nice food too.

Don't let it being on the outskirts of Burnley put you off. If you want to get out and about Townley Hall Park is lovely and there's Pendle Hill and other countryside nearby.

The spa suites at Centerparcs Elveden. Stunning, and the spa is wonderful and newly refurbished. And there are NO kids.

Stellarbella · 10/09/2018 05:47

The vineyard in Newbury. Amazing. Short journey from London

TheBlessedCheesemaker · 10/09/2018 06:05

Pennyhill park. Close to London, absolute no-brainer.
Avoid weekends though, can get very busy.

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 10/09/2018 06:07

Cowley Manor. Unless it’s gone down the pan since I left the UK

KitandPup · 10/09/2018 06:14

Lifehouse Spa in Thorpe le Soken is nice. They will arrange to pick you up from the train station

Bailiffscourt www.hshotels.co.uk/bailiffscourt in West Sussex - not far from Arundel.

Scarlet in Cornwall

I would second Chewton Glen and I'd go for a Tree House suite and a private chef if money was no object.

If wanting to escape London and be within a couple of hours I think it's the perfect location especially being close to the New forest and the coast.

Rockcliffe Hall on the County Durham/North Yorkshire border www.rockliffehall.com/spa/spa-garden

Lovely food, gorgeous spa, luxury, and they’ll collect you from Darlington station.

Disclaimer - not been here myself but would love to!

Titanic Spa in Huddersfield. The heat and ice room is pretty special www.titanicspa.com/

sam235corner · 10/09/2018 07:29

Seaham Hall. Great spa, comfy beds and great treatments.

PretzelPrincess · 10/09/2018 07:51

Seaham Hall or Glenegales hands down.

If you want something in a city to be able to go out too then The Midlands in Manchester or The Principal in Glasgow.

I've been to them ALL! These are the best in terms of treatments, customer service, surrounds, food and overall experience.

moonandsun · 10/09/2018 07:54

A Treehouse at Chewton Glen would be dream.
Pennyhill Park has a lovely spa
The Scarlet has an amazing location and really good food
I've heard great things about FS Hampshire but not been

peachypetite · 10/09/2018 09:27

Seaham looked amazing but fully booked

Another vote for Pennyhill

Brimstone in the Lake District

mildshock · 10/09/2018 09:49

I'd second Rockliffe Hall. I went for a spa evening there with a 3 course dinner.
It was amazing!

BouleBaker · 10/09/2018 12:11

Ragdale Hall or Chewton Glen

Washedwithrain · 10/09/2018 12:13

Rudding Park in Harrogate is a wonderful hotel with a spa, rather than being a spa hotel. I think it gives it a slightly different vibe, which I prefer. It's won loads of awards.
