I'm struggling at the moment with MH issues that are refusing to let up and part of that is I'm struggling to see the good in the world.

It must exist so I'm asking MN to help me to see it.

So far today I have,

the lovely person who sent me a lovely pm today,
the patient at the pharmacy who went and picked up my meds for me so I didn't need to struggle and,
the person who told me they care.

So, what's yours?

Today my new electric pencil sharpener arrived at work. I have spent the afternoon sharpening pencils and it was so so satisfying Grin

Cake & Flowers (and nice sharp pencils) for all

Had a lovely chat with ex-DH when he came to pick up the DC.

Did loads of cleaning jobs that I hadn't tackled since we moved in 4 years ago for a while, and it all looks AWESOME.

Had a lovely simple dinner and still have 4 points left to eat (WW).

Went shopping and got lots of bits for my hobby. A birthday present so I won't know of their existence for a few months....Grin

Becca19962014 · 21/09/2018 20:31

I managed to go shopping this evening and found a £1 coin in the bottom of my coat pocket for my trolley!

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide · 21/09/2018 20:48

Oh the £1 for the trolley is always a result Becca

MipMipMip that sounds great fun. I adore our big hobbycraft, but I always spend far too much there!

Dp went away with work today. He left for his flight at 3.30am I got a text at 10.30 when he landed asking if by any chance he had left his wallet. He hadn't. He was gutted as he had lost it.
When I came back from shopping a taxi was outside our house and the taxi driver got out and said he'd just posted dps wallet through the letter box. Dp had phoned the taxi firm to see if he'd left it in the taxi, he hadn't but the driver went back to where he had dropped him at the airport and found it where he must have dropped it when he got out.
Restored my faith in human nature what a lovely man.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 21/09/2018 23:25

@holycityzoo What a wonderful story!

MipMipMip · 21/09/2018 23:51

That is wonderful! What a lovely story.

I have prepared MipHound' s treats for the month. One of my most hated job so very pleased that's out of the way.

A friend came over and sat with me for two hours when I was really struggling. She didn't ask questions or judge, just sat with me, held me and sorted out some practical help for me. She is amazing

Becca19962014 · 22/09/2018 09:41

Everyone needs friends like that curtains

I ran for 25 minutes without stopping. Used to do half marathons and run 20-25 miles a week before baby, then had a pelvic-floor-annihilating delivery and it looked like I might never run again, so am totally over the moon. Seems like a year of boring boring physio and being very demanding at gynae appointments is finally paying off. Have legs covered in mud, bramble scratches and nettle stings and a face covered in a ridiculous grin Grin

MorningsEleven · 22/09/2018 17:45

I took DS to an activity that DH normally goes to with him (It's their shared interest thing) and the leaders were so kind to DS and one in particular has taken him under his wing and it was nice to see DS being praised.

Becca19962014 · 22/09/2018 18:57

I got my meds today despite feeling unwell.

I finished reading Jane austens Persuasion tonight. I've read it in a week. I've not read it in ages. About to start Mansfield park which is my favourite.

Verbena87 · 23/09/2018 08:23

Ah I love Jane Austen! So deliciously spiteful.

Tapirbackrider · 23/09/2018 09:50

Thanks! Weirdly I'm so excited to get it done. The pre-op assessment nurse was very Hmm at me but hey...no periods Grin

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 23/09/2018 10:16

I visited my gran, who’s in her late 90s and housebound. We spent a couple of hours nattering and drinking tea. I know visits mean a lot to her, but they also mean a lot to me.

Enjoy your reading, OP.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 23/09/2018 11:40

@Tapirbackrider Good luck tomorrow.

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide · 23/09/2018 21:12

Becca19962014 · 23/09/2018 21:55

Becca do you have someone in every day?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 23/09/2018 22:30

I lost one of my rings in a giant bin (think skip size one...the ones that Americans always hid in while running down dark alleys) during work

We went back today and dd and dh got into the bin and found it for me

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 23/09/2018 22:31

What languid said

Is there anyone there for you becca

Becca19962014 · 23/09/2018 22:38

No I can't afford care.

I didn't mean to make the thread depressing. Sorry, just that was my big thing for today.

OP posts:
LanguidLobster · 23/09/2018 22:44

Actually I'm a bit surprised the NHS can't arrange something, I had the impression you needed some help with day to day tasks. I know a couple of people who do although I think that was council funded.

Sorry I'll try to say something nice today - I have been sleepwalking recently and was horrified and asked the newsagents to always check I was awake. I went in today and they said 'are you awake?' and squealed in high pitched laughter. I'm going to get this every time now!
