DH just made me a hot chocolate. Very nice of him. But when I got to the bottom I found the grossest thing in the world!!

There was a DEAD SLUG in the bottom of my hot chocolate!!!!!!

How the hell did a slug end up in my drink??? How can I ever get my mouth clean again? Am I going to become ill from almost drinking a slug?

LanguidLobster · 07/09/2018 22:25

Oh yikes, horrible - can he explain...?

Gazelda · 07/09/2018 22:26

How do you know it was dead? Could have been sleepy from the hot milky drink.
Where is it now?

Partyfops · 07/09/2018 22:26

That's revolting! How the fuck did it get there.

Yes you will probably die -not-

dudsville · 07/09/2018 22:26

I'm afraid I'm going to just pretend I haven't read this. Good luck!

Sitranced · 07/09/2018 22:28

Did the chocolate not taste funny? Confused

MsAwesomeDragon · 07/09/2018 22:28

I have no ducking clue how it got in there. DH swears the mug was empty and he just added chocolate powder, milk and hot water. It was most definitely dead.

Someone must have some idea how it could have got in there?

OP posts:
MsAwesomeDragon · 07/09/2018 22:29

No it didn't taste funny, it was normal, frothy hot chocolate.

EwItsAHooman · 07/09/2018 22:31

Was it definitely a slug and not a lump of soggy congealed/undissolved chocolate powder?

MsHomeSlice · 07/09/2018 22:31

check the kettle.....

:v

LIVIA999 · 07/09/2018 22:31

I found something in the spout bit of our kettle. I thought it was a mushroom then realised none of us eat mushrooms. I thought maybe it had flicked in not grown there.
My DH realised it was a slug which slithered in there then was boiled to death and we must have poured water over so many times to drink tea.
We have sooooo many slugs in our house the kids check their shoes for them in the morningsConfused
Maybe the slug was hiding in the kettle or cup?

mumof2kiddos · 07/09/2018 22:32

Maybe it was congealed in the chocolate powder? He may have thought that it was a lump of powder but actually it was the slug covered in chocolate powder.
What brand was it? The hot chocolate I mean...not the slug.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 07/09/2018 22:32

Lungworm...not really, did he not check or see the cups before making?

PAlm5 · 07/09/2018 22:33

My bet is it came out of the kettle! Extremely unfortunate that it made its way in there in the first place Confused

LanguidLobster · 07/09/2018 22:33

Erm...well I don't think it will make you ill but it's a pretty grim discovery!

Assume dh was just really tired and didn't notice. Think hot chocolate duties should fall to you from now on...

ana18 · 07/09/2018 22:34

Neverdrinking hot chocolate again.

It's hard to say how it got there not knowing your home etc

Hope you feel better

IndianaMoleWoman · 07/09/2018 22:36

Slug in the kettle. Happens to my friend who has a slug filled kitchen. She covers the spout now.

JaretsGirlfren · 07/09/2018 22:36
Shock

Just Shock

MsAwesomeDragon · 07/09/2018 22:38

I hoped for undissolved chocolate powder, but alas it was not. DH (not that I trust him now) took a closer look and confirmed that it was indeed a slug, although he's as baffled as I am by how it got there.

We've had slugs in the house before but not for a while. Until today my most horrid experience was standing on a slug in the dark with bare feet. That's nothing on this!

namechanged0983 · 07/09/2018 22:39

This story will give me nightmares! I HATE slugs Shock

MsAwesomeDragon · 07/09/2018 22:43

mumof it was a sachet of wispa gold. It's my favourite but I'll never be able to look at it in the same way again.

He swears it was definitely not in the cup when he started the drink making process. It was a sealed sachet which he opened, so I can't see it having been in there. The kettle seems the most likely, but again we've not had slugs in the kitchen for ages (since I put slug pellets near the kitchen door)

Oh god, I posted about my slug experience earlier, but yours is worse! I really can't stand them.

StrangeLookingParasite · 07/09/2018 22:47

Ahhhhh fuckfuckfuck, I'm usually pretty sanguine about all the so-called gross things, but aaargh, yuck, that really is.
Beurk.

colbyandmontysmum · 07/09/2018 22:49

Our kettle has a screen at the spout. Now I'm wondering if it's a slug screen Hmm. Were you outside drinking it? Could a slug either have crawled in or dropped in it? Either way - wow! Just wow!!

MsAwesomeDragon · 07/09/2018 22:51

We have a screen near the top of the kettle too, but there's possibly room for a slug to creep into the spout unnoticed. We were just in the living room drinking it, I could understand it if we'd been outside.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 07/09/2018 22:52

Urgh. I will never use the kettle without checking it for passengers first. Probably wont either have hot choc again either.

Grim, grim, grim!!
