Yes

IhatetheArchers · 07/09/2018 17:34

Why the fuck would they ban swearing? (Vote leave)

Atalune · 07/09/2018 17:35

Fuck yeah

Sushijackiechan · 07/09/2018 17:35

Fuck yeah!

steppemum · 07/09/2018 17:35

personally I don't swear, either in real life or on here. So for me it wouldn't make much difference.
And at times I find the swearing just gratuitous, and unnecessary.

But I like the fact that swearing is just one part of the freedom of speech that we try and get on here. Not overly moderated, not being told what to do, allowed to been grown ups and if you want to swear, go ahead.
So I do think it would fundamentally change something about the site if you weren't allowed to swear, so I don't want them to change it.

BastardGoDarkly · 07/09/2018 17:36

They wouldn't Grin it's called 'The one with the swearing'

Every now and again though, there's threads about the language in here, and amongst all the "we fucking like it" and fottfsof.. there's quite a few posters in agreement.

I don’t really tend to swear on here but would probably leave on principle, as I’m an adult and don’t appreciate being told to watch my language.

InDubiousBattle · 07/09/2018 17:37

Yes but I don't honestly see how they could, there must be thousands and thousands of posts a day, in my experience 98% of them contain a swear word!

ALemonyPea · 07/09/2018 17:37

Like a bloody shot.

I wish they’d ban posters who post fing p taking bleeped out swearies though. That’d be a better option.

iklboo · 07/09/2018 17:38

Do they bollocks! GrinWink

IhatetheArchers · 07/09/2018 17:39

Swearing, big, clever, and very, very funny. The asterisk posters I automatically assume are trolls.

If nothing else, the amount of swearing means the Daily Mail, and other shit newspapers have their fucking work cut out if they want turn threads into stories.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 07/09/2018 17:43

There’d be fuck all on here.

BastardGoDarkly · 07/09/2018 17:43

I'd be gutted, but I'd have to leave.

  • swearers used to get pulled up on it, but there's just too many now Confused

Dont think id have a fucking choice they would request me to leave

ENormaSnob · 07/09/2018 19:24

Yes

Giggorata · 07/09/2018 19:44

Yes, what a bloody cheek.

user1471453601 · 07/09/2018 19:51

I find it funny that of the three sites I often read and comment on, only this one has no filter to stop fucking swearing. The other two are football related. I assume the moderators here trust us to swear appropriately, as in not to swear at posters, but to swear at situations.

MiddlingMum · 07/09/2018 20:16

I never swear, and ignore threads with swear words in the title. A ban would therefore not really affect me.

Another site I use a lot for my work has a total ban on swearing.

megletthesecond · 07/09/2018 20:18

Yes.

CuntyMcFuckerson · 07/09/2018 20:19

I don't approve of swearing at all.

teaandtoast · 07/09/2018 20:20

Yes, fucking yes!

EdWinchester · 07/09/2018 20:21

Yes, because it would be prissy.

crisscrosscranky · 07/09/2018 20:22

I wouldn't, am a prolific vocal swearer but it doesn't have the same buzz for me writing it down Grin
