How far pregnant am I?!

Long story short, I took a pregnancy test yesterday as I've just been feeling a bit run down recently and sure enough it came back instantly (before the control line) with a very dark positive! I have very irregular periods and I am breastfeeding at the moment so no idea how far along I am. I have booked a private scan for Monday. Just now I dug out my home Doppler just on the off chance and I found the heartbeat! Only about an inch below my belly button!!!! What does this all mean? How far along do you think I am?

Oh wow! Congratulations! Ooh I can't wait to hear how far along you are on Monday.

ThirdChildFourthPile · 07/09/2018 20:37

I'm in!

I say 15+5 weeks on Monday.
Looks like it's probably a baby boy.

FrederickCreeding · 07/09/2018 20:40

Wow, that's amazing. If you are actually as far on as some of the predictions, that's pretty incredible. Plus fantastic that you don't knowingly have to endure those first few grotty weeks of feeling sick and tired.

Gosh how exciting!

Rachie1986 · 07/09/2018 20:46

Definitely need an update on Monday!

Haworthia · 07/09/2018 20:52

I remember the midwife being able to pick up the baby’s heartbeat at the 16wk appointment even though they weren’t supposed to (apparently because failing to pick it up upsets mothers so they’re told not to try). Could it be much more than that? Shock

gollygoodnessgraciousme · 07/09/2018 20:52

Luckily I take vitamins anyway, one of which has 400ug of folic acid 😊

You lot are getting me all excited now!!

I'm trying to bring myself back down to earth, I probably got the heartbeat wrong and I'm only like 4 weeks 😂

Congratulations - They used to get a measuring tape out to measure my bump and then match it against the dates - would that work for you I wonder or do you have to be towards the end of the pregnancy for that

SaturdaySauv · 07/09/2018 21:22

I’m 10 weeks and find a heartbeat of approx 160 beats per min very low down in my abdomen (pubic area really). I think you’re probably 16 weeks or more.

gollygoodnessgraciousme · 07/09/2018 22:02

I've never been able to work out where the top of my uterus is! Even in late pregnancy when the midwives measured, I remember them saying "is that the top?" as they pressed and I'd just be like "erm maybe!"

Hate to be "that" person but please don't rely on home dopplers.

gollygoodnessgraciousme · 07/09/2018 22:16

Oh I wouldn't ever rely on one. It's just nice really. In my last pregnancy I had reduced movements and went in for monitoring even though I could hear the heartbeat.

Your user name seems rather apt now OP Grin

GlitteryFluff · 08/09/2018 00:00

Ah lovely surprise.
I'm guessing 11 weeks.
Good luck!

snapple21 · 08/09/2018 00:06

I'm a midwife. Even at 16 weeks the fetal heart is usually auscultated quite low down just above the pubic line.

As others have said, can you feel your womb? It feels quite hard and defined.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 08/09/2018 00:16

From the diagram posted earlier I'd guess you're around 16 weeks and if "a rounded belly" and few pregnancy symptoms I'd guess it's a boy
I've had 3 boys no symptoms with any

IfIWasABirdIdFlyIn2ACeilingFan · 08/09/2018 00:31

Ooh placemarking for Monday’s update!

Lillygolightly · 08/09/2018 00:38

Good luck for Monday!

Chimchar · 08/09/2018 00:43

How exciting! This will be the longest weekend ever, waiting for the scan on Monday.. good luck!

SecretWitch · 08/09/2018 00:52

I’m tossing my bet at 14 wks and a girl...which means 12 wks and two boys. How exciting for you, op!

Hogtini · 08/09/2018 01:00

Good luck for Monday! The clearblue tests only go up to 3+ so wouldn't say any more than that.

Monday55 · 08/09/2018 08:47

Have you told your DP yet ?

gollygoodnessgraciousme · 08/09/2018 10:53

Omg I hope some of you that are guessing 12-16 weeks are right! That would be so cool to already have the horrible 1st trimester out the way.

Of course I've told my husband!

How exciting! It must be great finding out that bit later so you don’t have to wait so long to meet them Grin
