How far pregnant am I?!

Long story short, I took a pregnancy test yesterday as I've just been feeling a bit run down recently and sure enough it came back instantly (before the control line) with a very dark positive! I have very irregular periods and I am breastfeeding at the moment so no idea how far along I am. I have booked a private scan for Monday. Just now I dug out my home Doppler just on the off chance and I found the heartbeat! Only about an inch below my belly button!!!! What does this all mean? How far along do you think I am?

Have you called your Drs surgery and asked to be referred to midwife?

gollygoodnessgraciousme · 07/09/2018 17:18

I was just going to wait til Monday, they won't get me in before then anyway. This way I can tell them how far rather than looking like a clueless idiot 😂

gollygoodnessgraciousme have you noticed any changes in your milk?

I'm 36 weeks now and 'still' feeding. I know everyone is different but thete was definitely less milk around 12-16 weeks (LO diant seem to mind) and feeding was more uncomfortable, then back up again from around 20 weeks.

Shamelessly place marking Grin

Baby is only feeding morning and night now. She dropped night feeds and lunchtime feed a few weeks ago. Not sure I've noticed a difference in my milk, she seems to be feeding just the same as usual when she is feeding.

Wow congratulations. I first found a heartbeat with my Doppler around 10 weeks so I’d imagine you are at least that far along.

Babyiwantabump · 07/09/2018 17:27

Do you have a bump? Hearing the fetal heart just below your belly button could mean around 16 weeks or more - it’s usually a lot lower around the pubic bone at 12 weeks . Depending on baby’s position too . If I were to hazard a guess I’d say around 20is weeks to be so high up

My tummy has gone a bit round... was putting it down to stress eating.

Expected Fundal height approx by week- if you look your uterus is very low before 12 Weeks

Hmm yeah. I think everything stretches faster the more pregnancies though?

How amazing!

Namechange221 · 07/09/2018 20:04

Aren't midwives quite anti Dopplers now because of how easily it is to mistake the placenta/cord pulsing/your own heartbeat for the babies.

Congratulations though hope all goes well on monday!

Mooey89 · 07/09/2018 20:04

Oh wow what a surprise!
Will check back on a Monday... my money is on 14 weeks

CormoranStrike · 07/09/2018 20:06

Twins!

gollygoodnessgraciousme · 07/09/2018 20:06

I think they are tbh but I've used one on all my pregnancies and if you know what you're looking for it's hard to mistake it really. Babies heartbeat is nearly double the mothers.

I was about 15w with DC3 when DC2 self weaned from breast feeding. She was 2y 8m though!!

Asmallrole · 07/09/2018 20:26

Start folic acid in case you're earlier on than you think

MyKingdomForBrie · 07/09/2018 20:33

Oooh what an exciting mystery! Hope you've at least got the hideous first tri out of the way OP!
