I’ve just got DSs invoice for this term (term time nursery not open in the holidays)

She goes for three full days split into six sessons (morning/lunch club/afternoon)

We provide lunch.

After her 15hrs are taken off the bill for the whole term is £994

£669 for her sessions
£240 for “lunch” (the 15mins between the morning and afternoon session)
£59 for French/Spanish (compulsory if they are there on a Monday morning)
£60 for snack

Does that all seem reasonable? It seems huge to me!

Sounds reasonable tbh if that's an entire term.

TulipsInBloom1 · 06/09/2018 19:45

Are my sums right for that 15mins per day lunchbreak being costed at £21.33 per hour?!

honeysucklejasmine · 06/09/2018 19:48

For a term that doesn't sound that bad!

That is high, we got 30hrs free, DD does 4 days 8am-6pm, term time we pay 1 day a week at £43 a day and then £10.50 a week for breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks.

Non term time we pay £43 a day and no extra charges for food.

£22.08 per day ?

(15 weeks x 3 days a week = 45 days
£994 divided by 45 days = £22.08)

Sounds a complete bargain to me.

It seems a lot to me, with 22 (30 hours stretched) my monthly bill for 25 hours was
£75.

If we'd only had 15 hours free it would have been £240 a month

Last year DS did 4x 3 hour sessions at local pre-school, 15hrs wrap around with a childminder and 1 forest school session a week. All year, I paid a grand total of £0. All covered in the 30 funded hours. It’s crazy (and felt like a miracle after the days of £1200+ a month for 2 dc in nursery 3 days a week).

liquidrevolution · 06/09/2018 23:44

1000 -1100 a month for 4 full days depending on calendar.

Sounds about right to me.

Wowzers. Admittedly my experience goes back to 2004-2007 so a while ago. However, I paid 220pcm for 3 days a week. I was really fortunate as I had a nursery on site at my work. To put it into context, it was about 40% of the cost of the cheapest local nursery.
