Hello please reassure my daughter - all her friends have several gaps but she has not felt a single wobble! She is 6 and 4 months..is this normal? She was in tears today....

My DD had her first wobbly tooth at the grand old age of 6 years and 7 months!!

Chrisinthemorning · 05/09/2018 18:08

DS is 6 and 3 months, I’m not worried (dentist)Grin
He is starting to get his 6s, look at the back to see if any 1st permanent molars are appearing (they don’t make anything wobbly).

GuyGarveysWife · 05/09/2018 18:08

I was 7 when I got my first wobbly tooth and at 25 I still have one! However my brothers fell out really early as he oddly had two sets of adult teeth Confused

Mindchilder · 05/09/2018 18:09

My ds didn't lose any til 7, he's 8 now and has only lost 2.

LavateLasManos · 05/09/2018 18:10

DD was 7 in July and lost her first baby tooth in August and her second last night.

Roomba · 05/09/2018 18:11

I remember feeling like this - my first tooth came out the week before I turned eight! I thought they'd never fall out and felt left out of all the tooth fairy discussions at school. Reassure your DD that they'll come out when they're ready and it's different for everyone.

TokyoSushi · 05/09/2018 18:12

DS was 7 in July, he's only lost 2 but has a few wobbly now, loads of kids in his class have fully grown big teeth!

nocoolnamesleft · 05/09/2018 18:20

Worried about no losing teeth...hmm. Is she having cash flow problems?

RiverTam · 05/09/2018 18:22

I know a child that hadn’t lost any at the age of 8.

sdaisy26 · 05/09/2018 18:26

Dd is 6y 2m & the only one in her class not to have lost a tooth. She is very unimpressed, but I keep reminding her she’ll be happy in her old people’s home!

She didn’t get teeth at all til about 13 months & I didn’t lose mine til late so I’m not worrying about it. Dentist hasn’t raised any concerns.

MummaGiles · 05/09/2018 18:27

I think I was 6 and a half when I lost my first tooth

SmallestInTheClass · 05/09/2018 18:32

I was 7, remember it feeling like ages to wait! DD has just lost the first two in two weeks at 6 and 9 months.

LadyGlitterSparkl · 05/09/2018 18:34

My ds is 9 & has only lost 3, almost 4

anniehm · 05/09/2018 18:37

My daughter was nearly 8. She was late for other physical milestones too (not cognitive) but she's grown and has a full set of adult teeth now. Tell her not to worry

Grasslands · 05/09/2018 18:40

This is a good question to ask the dentist at the child’s twice a year check up....
It could be a problem but most likely isn’t.

Homemadearmy · 05/09/2018 18:56

My daughter was late losing her teeth, it turns out she doesn’t have a full set of adult teeth so they didn’t push the baby teeth out

WiltedDaffs · 05/09/2018 19:36

DS1 lost his first couple at 7.5, DS2 lost three in the space of a couple weeks just before he turned 7.

Chipsahoy · 05/09/2018 19:43

My ds is 7 and half. He lost two at once at age 7 almost exactly. My ten yr old still hasn't lost all his.

RobotOverlord · 05/09/2018 19:46

A friend’s son is almost 7 and a half and has just lost his first tooth, no problems according to the dentist, just how it happens sometimes! My DS has the opposite problem, he’s just 6 and has already lost 6, including 3 over the course of one expensive weekend that had me checking his bedroom for pliers Hmm

cook64 · 05/09/2018 20:01

am in my 50s still got 2 baby teeth lol

ToothTrauma · 05/09/2018 20:03

I was 8 when I lost my first baby tooth. And 14 when I lost my last, I’m sorry to say!

CatsRule · 05/09/2018 20:32

My dad is 6 and a half and none are even slightly wobbly yet. He was fairly late in getting teeth through so that might be why. He does keep telling me that lots of kids in his class have lost teeth and that his are wobbly...they aren't! My niece has lost 3 and she's just turned 6, she also has her back adult teeth plus the front ones coming through.

chickennuggetsfortea · 05/09/2018 20:48

my daughtet lost her first tooth last week. she's 7 years 4 months

Juanbablo · 05/09/2018 21:33

Ds1 was almost 7 when he lost his first. He lost 8 pretty quickly then didn't lose any for over 2 years and is now in a spell of losing them again at almost 11.

waterrat · 05/09/2018 22:36

aw thanks guys - I am going to read this to her. She got quite tearful about it earlier - sometimes mumsnet really is so helpful. I don't know any other kids her age who haven't lost one yet so these are really helpful to hear.
