Why have I never realised how brilliant she is?

Cannot understand why anyone gives a fk about them TBH.

Anyone explain?

Do they enhance YOUR life in any way or just their own?

DanglyBangly · 05/09/2018 16:44

She’s always been funny. But no one seems to notice.

keyboardkate · 05/09/2018 16:46

Dangly,

She hasn't smiled for umpteen years, so it's no wonder some people think she is NOT funny at all!

And if I am reading your slightly cryptic post correctly, who cares anyway!

Zampa · 05/09/2018 16:56

Personally, I think she's a great role model. She was part of a global group, who made an attempt to empower women at the time of the ladette. She is extremely successful, in multiple spheres and works incredibly hard. She seems like a great mother (her children love her, whatever your views on SM are). She has also worked on her marriage and is approaching her 20th anniversary.

I think that's great.

Would my life be diminished in any way should the Beckhams disappear from the planet? No. But I can still enjoy her IG feed whilst she's here!

Zampa · 05/09/2018 16:57

Bold fail Whoops.

Lottapianos · 05/09/2018 17:01

'Personally, I think she's a great role model'

Completely agree. The media have always wanted her to just fade away and be Mrs David Beckham, but she has always insisted on making a name for herself and having her own career. They hate her for it. Well balls to them

Anyone who jumps on the "she never smiles' bandwagon needs to have a serious word with themselves and ask themselves why they are berating another woman for how she chooses to present herself in public. She doesn't owe anyone a big cheesy grin, none of us do. And if she did walk around beaming, they would say she was a smug bitch!

Ivaidea · 05/09/2018 17:01

He's not alone in that. Loads of people do it

oh that's ok then.

RiverTam · 05/09/2018 17:07

Apparently he won't get a knighthood because they are clamping down on honouring those using tax avoidance schemes being investigated by HMRC.

EleanorLavish · 05/09/2018 17:17

I think it is pretty universally accepted that she is a nice person. She isn't a bitch/diva/total cah.
However, she is obsessed, really obsessed with fame. She isn't hilarious. She is able to poke fun at herself, and is up for a laugh. That doesn't make you hilarious.
She is completely unable to stop posing. Her entire day must be spent posing. She goes to sports day and spends the entire time posing, she goes for an ice cream with kids and spends entire time posing, she goes to a royal wedding, a happy occasion, and could not stop posing!! The effort required to look 'perfect' every second, it must be so draining.
So she doesn't like her smile, fine. She can't even smile at her kids sports day because she is so worried about how her smile will look? WTF?
That's weird. Stop worrying about how you look and live a little!
And please dump that complete bell end of a husband. I had to laugh when it was suggested he doesn't agree with 'her' putting the kids out there so much. He would sell his granny to enhance Brand Beckham.

Penninepain · 05/09/2018 17:24

She has a brilliant sense of humour actually, and is a genuinely nice, warm, funny woman.

I empathise with those saying 'why are you arsed about slebs', but think those who slate someone they have never met are bloody sad.

If I posted ' i think mummynetter is a miserable sod becuase she never posts jokes', i would be rightly put in my place.

OutPinked · 05/09/2018 17:36

Of course you would feel the pressure to look great 24/7 if you had paparazzi following your every move, I don’t blame her for being po-faced.

I’ve always really liked her. She is extremely elegant and graceful.

TheFairyCaravan · 05/09/2018 17:37

I don’t think it’s funny at all.

She might be a nice person but I don’t like what Brand Beckham is. They are both obsessed with fame and money and would sell their kids to the devil if they thought it would make them a few quid.

AlwaysPottering · 05/09/2018 17:46

Ive always had a soft spot for Victoria. I think she’s done a fantastic job of creating a truly fabulous clothing line. She might have help at home but she is still juggling career, home, mummy stuff like the rest of us. Loved the vogue video

SinglePringle · 05/09/2018 18:07

Of course she’s not written or directed it - it’s an advert for this months Vogue, in which she appears, rather than a Beckham PR ‘stunt’. I’m Confused that anyone would think she might have written it. No actors / personalities / stars write the adverts they appear in.

Still takes some comedy timing to deliver the lines well.

I think it’s fun! Love the lorry load of stuff, including the thrones and ‘You’re Out Of Your Mind’ wig. And the microphone bit at the end is Grin

changedagain67 · 05/09/2018 18:16

i am glad to see other VB fans out there. She often gets such a slagging but I've admired her ever since she did that show where shy was trying out being an interviewer and concluded, 'I'm just not very good at it.' : )

I admire her work ethic too and the way she kept going on at what she wanted to do (performer/ fashion designer) even though people were telling her she wasn't any good or laughing at her. Well, she showed them didn't she?!

changedagain67 · 05/09/2018 18:18

Mind you, does show the anti-aging properties of shit loads of cash.
I am her age and, really, we are not aging at the same rate....

BlancheM · 05/09/2018 18:37

I remember an 'at home with the Beckhams' style docu from way back when she was in her long hair/baseball cap phase. She was so funny and wisecracking throughout, I've liked her ever since.

Growingboys · 05/09/2018 21:10

Agree it was lame and not at all funny.

I feel sorry for her, being married to him. All the money in the world doesn't stop loneliness.

MrsMozart · 05/09/2018 21:19

Oh that was good Grin

LarryUnderwood · 05/09/2018 21:46

Love it, good find OP.

PollyFlinderz · 06/09/2018 03:12

I thought it was stilted and a bit cringe

I think it was meant to be. She was laughing at herself.

Gingerivy · 06/09/2018 07:44

He's not alone in that. Loads of people do it

oh that's ok then.

Oh for heaven's sake, do grow up! He is legally entitled to fight a ticket in court and legally entitled to use a solicitor - regardless of his money or status. Whether or not you approve of it, people do it all the time.

Ivaidea · 06/09/2018 09:31

Gingerivy: DB hasn't disputed that he was driving at 59 mph on a road with a speed limit of 40mph. He's challenging on a technicality.

Great role model - someone to really admire.

LizzieSiddal · 06/09/2018 09:38

Great role model - someone to really admire.

Indeed. And don’t forget his tax avoidance, alleged affairs and calling the awards commitee “cunts” due to their failure to make him a Sir. Such a role model.Hmm
