CBB 'punch' incident. Views?

Not sure about this as it is highly irritating to have someone jumping around you pretend to 'box' and he could have poked her by accident. She was in a car accident recently and could be tender there. Some could say she had a right to complain even though he was obviously not deliberately trying to hurt her.

The asking for him to be removed from the house (if she did that) and claims that he'd 'beaten her up' were a complete overreaction of though.

Hush victim blaming right there

Yep, can you imagine the other way round? "She was winding him up, that was never going to end well....."

Womens Aid have been really misguided. Their statement didn't say that Roxanne had been assaulted, they believed her or anything but that playfighting could be frightening for victims of DV and possibly trigger traumatic memories.

But with the fact that other men have said she falsely accused them and because she's been seen lying about Ryan punching her repeatedly - lots of MRAs and abusers are going to not bother with the WA statement but just chant 'that's telling, DV charity supporting a compulsive liar who cries abuse when nothing has happened'.

There'll be 100s of the arseholes calling their friends and loved ones this weekend saying 'That Roxanne on CBB? That's exactly what crazy ex did when she said I hit her'.

BitchQueen90 · 02/09/2018 12:22

If she was a victim of DV then I understand it may be triggering for her but that does not give her the right to lie about what he did, demand he be removed from the house and try and turn other people against him.

TwistedStitch · 02/09/2018 12:24

If playfighting is triggering for her why was she doing it in the house? There is footage of her hitting Ben far harder than Ryan touched her.

Runninglateeveryday · 02/09/2018 12:25

She is an evil horrible narcistic bitch desperate for screen time. I hope her career never recovers.

I don't think we've heard the last from her she'll be plotting, I expect she will have a suicide attempt and be in the papers making further allegations very soon. She laughed as he did it and made a joke, he barely touched her.

Hushnownobodycares · 02/09/2018 12:40

I'm not victim blaming Hmm. Isn't the consensus that Ryan is the victim anyway?

He was in the wrong jabbing at her agressively but he clearly had no time for her before he even went into the house. He believed there was background so why get involved in anything other than arms length conversation with her?

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/09/2018 12:47

Its telling that more and more people have come out and spoken against her.. Including someone she punched then said they did it to her. That and little or none support from Emmerdale cast.

The pool incident seemed odd at first but makes more sense now.

Having actually read womens aid's statement I have no problem with it, but it doesn't excuse RP's behaviour regarding this whole incident.

Your language says otherwise.

Jabbing at her aggressively?! Did you even see the clip?!
As someone upthread said, why was she play fighting and jabbing at another contestant if she was so easily triggered by play fighting?
Ryan wouldn't have a clue she was so "sensitive" about doing that.

He believed there was background so why get involved in anything other than arms length conversation with her?
You do come across as trying to blame him for not staying away.

BonnesVacances · 02/09/2018 13:03

Isn't that ^^ victim blaming?

TwistedStitch · 02/09/2018 13:08

He didn't jab her aggressively, he barely touched her. And it is quite difficult to keep people at arms length when cooped up together, he was probably just trying to engage with her in a way that she had been doing with others. I doubt it was some master plan, I'm not sure he could be expected to know that she would state that a filmed proovable event was a sustained aggressive assault regardless of her history.

youarenotkiddingme · 02/09/2018 13:21

5k I just came on to say exactly the same having decided to watch the whole episode (I don't watch it!).

All the scenes were interspersed with showing housemates calling her an attention seeker. She definitely wasn't upset and hurt during the party and only decided she couldn't sleep in the room with Ryan after what Ben said.
I think B.B. tried to deal with it thinking - due to Roxy subsequent behaviour - that it was all a fuss about nothing and didn't realise she would escalate it.

It's interesting that during Ryan chat with B.B. he said he could see why B.B. interpreted it that way but he knows Roxy didn't see it that way like he didn't. He seemed to genuinely have no idea if her complaining?

youarenotkiddingme · 02/09/2018 13:27

What also surprised me is as she walked into bedroom alone she stated "I've just been punched but coronation streets Jason Grimshaw"

That's just a character - not who he is and somehow strikes me as an intentional comment to - maybe? - the viewers?

dentie · 02/09/2018 13:47

He was in the wrong jabbing at her agressively

He. Did. Not. Do. That.

StarWarsHolidaySpecial · 02/09/2018 13:52

Boney - I don't think there's any excuse for Roxannes behaviour.

SPOFS · 02/09/2018 14:07

I was impressed by Ryan's maturity over the situation though. He apologized and cleared the air.

BoneyBackJefferson · 02/09/2018 14:08

StarWarsHolidaySpecial

Sorry. It does read that way but its not how I meant it.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/09/2018 14:11

she even said the next day she was in a lot of pain, a complete lie.

CarolDanvers · 02/09/2018 14:37

I have to say that anyone defending this and saying that she could have misconstrued his intentions cannot have watched it. I've just watched everything again and there's this one bit where they're talking about it and she's standing outside shaking her head tearfully at the other housemates and it's just SO manipulative. I've met people like her, people who love drama and discord and really get a buzz off it and you can see it in her. She's probably got away with it loads of times and plain forgot about the cameras or actually managed to convince herself it was more because she was enjoying being the victim of the piece so much.

That said, I am really quite disturbed by the vicious name calling and visceral hate on here and on other SM platforms. She definitely deserves censure but quite a few of the attacks are rather knuckle dragging imvho.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/09/2018 14:46

Ive just seen the train video and whilst one of the guys was rude, she took it too far and sounded very drama queen, and it definitely didn't warrant police involvement.

youarenotkiddingme · 02/09/2018 14:49

Just watched eviction episode.

Though EW handled it brilliantly by saying they weren't trying to persuade Ben by showing the footage.

But I felt so sorry for him - he even said what he was told wasn't what the footage was Sad

Hushnownobodycares · 02/09/2018 15:51

He. Did. Not. Do. That.

Well he got a formal warning which is still standing despite the controversy.

Seems thinking a closer look at the pre-house background to the incident might be illuminating is rather contentious. That must suit the newly sainted Ryan. The one who deflected all of Dan's attempts to ask.

Yet she didn't, makes a mockery of the system doesn't it.

TwistedStitch · 02/09/2018 16:02

What background do you think there is that warrants Roxanne's lies?
