I feel like I want to disappear into conspiracy theories on the internet. Can anyone suggest some please?
Some of my top faves are:
Finland doesn't exist
700-950 ad never happened
That big American airport with creepy murals
Titanic didn't sink

Just having a read of the link Banana and having a right giggle at ‘My educational poison was History, a degree which has greatly benefited my career as a bicycle repairman’

DangerousMouse · 01/09/2018 21:43

Thanks Banana Do you read that whole page then click on part 2 etc or do you click on part 2 before you get to the bit that says draft? Reddit confuses me so much! Shame as I think I'd really enjoy it otherwise!

Read the whole page then click part 2 Smile I don't really get it either, but I'm reading another story linked in the comments of part 10 and it's gripping too, so trying to get my head around it!

DangerousMouse · 01/09/2018 21:55

Thank you! I'll get started on it tomorrow evening, got the page saved.

Love these threads

I do believe 9/11 was not all as it seems

The Marconi deaths mystery I find fascinating

If there is a conspiracy around 9/11 then I'd say it's more likely to be that the US government had known about it in advanced and allowed it to happen, than an actual inside job.

bobstersmum · 01/09/2018 23:21

Saw a documentary about 911 being a conspiracy I think it was called loose change

ScrambledSmeggs · 01/09/2018 23:24

A favourite of dd's is the man from Tauran.

ScrambledSmeggs · 01/09/2018 23:26

The man from Taured!

thelaststraw123 · 01/09/2018 23:27

Youtube back to the future predicts 911

Left Right is great. Is the other story the I dared my friend to ruin my life one? That one ends up a bit ridiculous, but it’s fun.

Yes! Am on series 2 now, from the friend's perspective. It is silly, and not nearly as well written as left right, but I'm hooked Blush

If I'm honest I wrote about left right on this thread thinking there was the possibility of it being true (not necessarily the story, but the fact that the OP got the emails), especially because of the comments advising the OP on what to do etc. It was only after when I googled the link for a Pp that I found another thread where he talks about staying in character, and I realised that whole section of reddit was about pretending to play a part in a story BlushBlushBlushGrin

BananaSpljt · 01/09/2018 23:41

Sorry don't mean to derail but karyatide if you're familiar with this section of reddit, is it right what I just said? It's just, some of the commenters seem so overinvested. Really researching the best route for the protagonist to take, and getting angry when they feel they've shared too much.

Kind of hope I got the wrong end of the stick and there's a chance the stories could be true Grin loads funner that way.

Sorry again to derail. But would definitely recommend the left right story. Looking up the elevator game & Elisa lam led me to it. The recountings of others playing the elevator game are bloody scary too!

BananaSpljt The official line on NoSleep stories from their page:
"Everything is true here, even if it's not."
Wink
I love NoSleep, best bedtime reading.

Speaking of Reddit, this thread is good for conspiracy theories that might* be true

*but probably aren't, let's face it

AllAboutTheStuff · 02/09/2018 02:24

I love the nosleep sub on Reddit, yes it’s a sub where everything is real even if it isn’t! So everyone acts as if each story is true

AllAboutTheStuff · 02/09/2018 02:28

www.reddit.com/r/UnsolvedMysteries/ Here’s another Reddit sub that’s quite interesting

Nakedavenger74 · 02/09/2018 04:33

Right left game on Reddit was daft. The first part was excellent but then it just got very silly and I felt annoyed that I'd invested time in it.

Moomoomonkey · 02/09/2018 08:55

The Mandela Effect. Really fascinating to read!

lucysmam · 02/09/2018 10:47

@BananaSpljt L/R is fascinating! I may have stayed up late last night reading most of it.

Shame there are things to do today so finishing it off will have to wait for tonight :(

SallyCinnamon3009 · 03/09/2018 13:50

Spent all morning reading left/right. Even debated getting in the car and having a go but I don't think it would work that well and I'd end up down a cul de sac pretty soon

IamPickleRick · 03/09/2018 18:02

Cul de sac 😂 That really made me laugh sallycinnamon

BirthdayBlueBo · 03/09/2018 19:47

What’s the gist of the left right hand read first few but have stopped now

Jasmin82 · 04/09/2018 09:15

Boothworld industries is a pretty weird one.

youlooklikeaclown · 13/09/2018 23:25

I know that The Independent is mostly click-bait, but has anyone checked out the Sunspot Observatory being shut down since the 6th September and on the Twitter feed regarding something over on the SECCHI observances over 6-7 September. I'm off to further Google etc...
