Middle class towns

We drove home from holiday yesterday and passed through Marlborough where we made a lunch stop to break our journey. What a fabulous town! Everything about it felt so upmarket; the shops, smart people, etc. Where have you been that felt so 'posh'?

Mind you everywhere in England (apart from Telford services )looks 'posh' compard to eg Tregaron, Lampeter etc

I forgot Chepstow. And Totnes, which I don't think has had a mention yet (though I see someone said Brixham - really?)

Why? They don't limit certain areas to certain classes you know.

And what I'm surprised that no-one seems to have mentioned yet is that class and income and necessarily related, so there will be middle class people who can't afford to live in Croydon and working class people who can.

Some parts of Croydon are middle class, Micheal Buble (?) has a house there.

Another vote for Stockbridge - painfully middle class.

Sorry forgot to mention I live in Lincoln and it's actually a city, I loved all of Cornwall however, mInly Plymouth and Perranporth x

@SnailMailFan I agree. I’ve lived in Farnham since I was five (48 now), went to college in Guildford, and there’s never been any military connection that I know of. Aldershot is a very separate town, obviously it’s military (although much less so now), but soldiers used to go out in Woking or Camberley.
