Where can I buy the thinnest, cheapest towels?

Asda used to do a super value towel range that was v cheap and the towels very thin. They don't do it any more.

I want a thin, scratchy towel because that's what I prefer for taking to the gym! I can only find soft, thick fluffy towels, even in primark.

IKEA?

rainingcats · 22/08/2018 08:17

Try places like mountain warehouse / decathalon as they sell microfibre towels which fold up really tiny and are often quite reasonably priced (not sure if they would be scratchy though)

John Lewis we’re doing a sale on towel bales recently. Dunno whether they still are, but they’re quite thin. I buy face towels at 35p for a wipe down at Zumba and exercise classes.

Daisymay2 · 22/08/2018 08:21

I use the thin microfiber towels from camping places although my favourite one came from Dunelm. I think Aldi or Lidl have had a .camping week recently so you might be lucky.

Melfish · 22/08/2018 08:22

I got a thin Turkish type towel from Decathlon about a month ago- it’s great (I like scratchy towels too) www.decathlon.co.uk/fouta-powders-id_8388347.html

Hammam towel is what you need, search for 'peshtemal' on amazon and you'll find heaps

Labradoodliedoodoo · 22/08/2018 08:23

Camping towel

Alicatz66 · 22/08/2018 08:41

I got my son gym towels from Primark. Tesco has thin beach towels on sale couple of weeks ago for 2.50. Thin blue .. they are now gym towels too ! Hammam great for beach as you can pop in beach bag ... not so much gym I don't think x

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 22/08/2018 08:43

Yes, hammam towel is the way to go. Tiny when folded, massive when unfolded and really absorbent. And they don't smell like microfibre ones do.

Nakedavenger74 · 22/08/2018 08:46

I use either Hammam towels or microfibre camping towel (Decathlon perfect for those and cheap as chips). Light as a feather. Take up no space. Dry super quick.

I adore hammams as they double up as picnic rugs, beach towels, wraps even scarves!! Crucial for a beach holiday!

SheStoodInTheStorm · 22/08/2018 08:47

@Foxyloxy1plus1 was going to get one of those bales - are they just rubbish towels?

OP I would try b&m.

EdithWeston · 22/08/2018 08:51

I think hammam towels are nicer than microfibre

Try market stalls?

Daisymay2 · 22/08/2018 09:05

dS1 got gym sized camping towel from Home Bargains. They are thinner than the Aldi or Lidl ones

MargaretDribble · 22/08/2018 09:07

Some Asdas still have cheap thin towels. I bought one a few weeks ago.

Glitteryfrog · 22/08/2018 09:08

Decathlon - microfiber ones.
Cheap and only take up a little bit of space in the washing machine.

MunchMunch · 22/08/2018 19:31

I'vebought some hand towels from poundland. Do the job for me as they're used in the kids bathroom so I don't worry about them get ruined as they were only £1.

Sitranced · 22/08/2018 19:36
