Would you eat pasta and tomato sauce left on the side for 2 1/4 hours?

Yes.

ShirleyPhallus · 20/08/2018 20:31

Yep

I’d eat it after being out all night tbh

louiseaaa · 20/08/2018 20:31

Yes

DelurkingAJ · 20/08/2018 20:31

Assuming I’d nuked it in the microwave and wasn’t serving it to anyone other than me and DH (both healthy adults) and I didn’t have animals or a fly problem etc then yes, I would.

DelurkingAJ · 20/08/2018 20:32

Even more yes if there’s no meat there.

Starlighter · 20/08/2018 20:32

Yes, as long as no flies around. Why wouldn’t you?

DickensianHysteric · 20/08/2018 20:32

Yes.

Butterymuffin · 20/08/2018 20:32

Yes

mamaduckbone · 20/08/2018 20:32

Yes.

ABitCrapper · 20/08/2018 20:33

Ah ok just me worrying then! I thought 2 hours was the limit and didn't realize it had been left out for longer and ate it and also the toddler stole some.

AgentProvocateur · 20/08/2018 20:33

Yes, I’d eat it after 2 1/4 days or weeks. There’s nothing there that would harm you.

GripNeeded · 20/08/2018 20:33

Eh? Why wouldn't you?

ABitCrapper · 20/08/2018 20:34

Didn't nuke it though just ate it room temperature

SoyDora · 20/08/2018 20:34

I don’t think anything would have happened to it in that extra 15 minutes to l cause a problem...

ProseccoPoppy · 20/08/2018 20:34

No meat? Then yes, absolutely. Might microwave it first but yes.

SoyDora · 20/08/2018 20:34

I’d eat it without reheating.

Lauren83 · 20/08/2018 20:34

Yes definitely

Bouledeneige · 20/08/2018 20:39

Yes - I'd eat it the next day if the pasta hadn't gone hard.

Stephisaur · 20/08/2018 20:43

Don’t like cold pasta, so would heat it for that reason!

Otherwise, no issue. Usually batch cook pasta for lunch at about 10pm on Sunday night, leave it on the counter overnight and fridge in the morning. One portion to work that day, the rest each day for the rest of the week. Hasn’t killed me yet :)

Moomicorn · 20/08/2018 20:44

Probably. But I’d stop if it tasted fizzy at all.

ColdNeverBotheredMeAnyway · 20/08/2018 20:49

I regularly cook food, leave it on the windowsill to cool, then take it to work for lunch the next day. So it's been out of the fridge for about 16 hours...

Never had food poisoning. But I am vegetarian...

Inertia · 20/08/2018 20:51

Yes.

Amummyatlast · 20/08/2018 20:56

Yes I would, as long as it was covered. And I'm usually one who won't take any risks with food. It's unlikely that any significant bugs would have grown on basic pasta and tomato sauce in that time period.

donquixotedelamancha · 20/08/2018 21:02

That's the limit in fast food joints where they keep the food warm. Even then it's a very very conservative limit.
