What's your super weird snack?

Just got back from the supermarket with a little treat for myself, that the rest of my family think is disgusting, vinegar marinated anchovies.

I sneak to the fridge to have one whenever I've got them in the house.

My mum was always partial to a toasted peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich when she was alive as well.

What's your most adored snack that people would think you're bonkers to eat?

Raw mushrooms, or a sandwich of peanut butter with sliced raw mushrooms

Deadheadstickeronacadillac · 16/08/2018 13:52

Toasted bagel with cream cheese and pickled onion monster munch sprinkled on top.

smigglepiggle · 16/08/2018 13:55

@Wombat44 I only like raw mushrooms. I HATE them cooked.

Gherkins and cherry yogurt.

Apples with peanut butter.

Peanut butter and marmite sandwiches.

Avocado, marmite and cream cheese sandwiches.

Egg, cress and salt and vinegar crisp sandwiches.

You're making me hungry.

theunsure · 16/08/2018 13:59

I eat a whole ball of mozzarella, just as it is.
When I first met DH I used to put tomato and olive oil on it to save face but now I don’t bother to pretend 😂

Grumpbum123 · 16/08/2018 14:00

Crunchy peanut butter on celery with crunchy branston pickle

cjt110 · 16/08/2018 14:04

Pasta and gravy with vinegar and brown sauce.

smigglepiggle · 16/08/2018 14:46

I do that too @unsure. Love tearing it off too. It's so satisfying.

A thin slice of roast beef slathered in horseradish and topped with worcester sauce flavoured crisps - roll it up carefully into a tube and eat

Narya · 16/08/2018 14:58

Salad cream sandwich (with or without crisps in it)

Dry roasted peanuts with salad cream

Lettuce. On its own. Ironically prefer it without salad cream!

smigglepiggle · 16/08/2018 15:00

@narya I do that too. And French's American mustard. Nom.

Ooh and I'll pour out things like Franks red hot sauce or lime pickle and eat it with bread. Dh thinks I'm insane.

Onion bagel. Sliced in half and filled with grated cheese, spring onions and sweet chilli sauce. Optional: crispy onions.

Fry in a bit of garlic oil until crispy on outside and gooey inside. Optional: sprinkle grated cheese on the outside of the bagel while frying, so you get a crispy cheese coating.

Calorific in the extreme, but SO good. It’s my occasional PMT treat to myself.

TheCrowFromBelow · 16/08/2018 15:03

I love these.

I like cream crackers with cheese and jalapeño, melted in the microwave, or plain crisps, cream cheese and Franks hot sauce.

I also like those anchovies, and anchovies straight from the jar mashed into toast.

Horrordoeurvres · 16/08/2018 15:03

pickled gherkins straight out the jar, even better if you take them out the fridge and they're nice and cold.

super satisfying crunch as well from them Grin

MyLifeInTheSunshine · 16/08/2018 15:04

I get obsessed with certain condiments and will have them with everything. Currently, it’s horseradish. I add it to sandwiches, dip my veggies in it at dinner. I had a toasted avocado & horseradish sarnie the other day, which raised family eyebrows 😆

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 16/08/2018 15:05

A whole packet of smoked salmon ( about 5 slices) especially the Aldi marinated ones with the sachet of sauce. The horseradish one is my favourite.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 16/08/2018 15:05

Jar of lemon curd. Teaspoon.

MyLifeInTheSunshine · 16/08/2018 15:05

Oh, I love cold pickled cucumbers! The American-style, big fat sliced ones.

smigglepiggle · 16/08/2018 15:06

Definitely found my people here.

Crunchy peanut butter and philadelphia sandwich.

Synecdoche · 16/08/2018 15:12

Salted tortilla chips dipped in stewed apple or jam. Yum.

ItWentInMyEye · 16/08/2018 15:12

Fried egg sandwich with Philadelphia and mango chutney 😍 admittedly it's a drunk snack food, but it's divine.

Jupiter9 · 16/08/2018 15:13

Can't beat a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with mustard... So yummy.
